This is why I don't like this version. Not souly cause of the music, but because it doesn't show EVERYTHING. This my 2nd time watching this reaction, and in the OG version piccolo just didn't get shot like how they edited it to look here. Frieza was aiming for Goku, and piccolo ran out in front of him calling out his name taking the shot same as he did for Gohan when he died the first time on earth. Just wanted to let you know that if you continue with this version you may not get everything. If you are cool with that then please... Ignore this comment 🙂

Same fr. I remember the excitement I felt when that spirit bomb hit. Episodes coming week to week, and internet was new so there weren't any spoilers, then boom all hell breaks loose and the legend emerges. I'm honestly surprised Leo hasn't seen this form at all because even outside the anime community, you can show people a pic of super saiyan goku and they recognize it.

You right... I thought they edited to make it look like piccolo just got shot, but I see he did try to push Goku out the way. In the OG version that scene is longer and clearer though. Meaning you see the full play out, and not the watered down version that's for kids... Or should I say edited own to make sure they didn't go over their TV time back then after other shows.

I remember watching this episode years and years ago and it still gets me when Frieza kills Krillin, knowing that Krillin died once before in the original DragonBall. And when Goku finally transformed into a Super Saiyan I could do nothing but shed tears. What a emotional anime DBZ is.
