The OG Planet of the Apes were long before my time, but I do remember Conquest of the Planet of the Apes well, which this film was based on. Ceasar is one of my favorite anti-heroes in any film. Andy is long overdue for an Oscar, but the Academy has largely lost its relevance over the past ten years.

I enjoy certain kids movies, YA movies, and movies meant just for us grown-ups. But I agree that his reactions are sometimes the reason to watch. I would NEVER have watched the Twilight abortions but watching with Leo made them entertaining.

Hunger Games may be categorized for YA but they are great stories with beautiful performances and stunt choreography. I’m in my 40’s and have seen all the films full out several times and will continue to do so. Almost like comfort stories. It’s a beloved series not just for teens but audiences of all ages. I hope Leo gives the series a shot. I totally see him falling for J.Law in them.

not only does serkis contribute to the voice but its an almost fully motion capture performance so the emotion conveyed on screen through caesar is all Serkis!

I think you made the right move skipping the rest of the OG series. The first is great but they get progressively worse. I don't think they connect to the new series at all anyway, except for one character named Caesar.

I can't believe how good these newer Apes movies were! Love how they set up Caesar's lieutenants with Rocket, Maurice, and Buck while also hinting at Koba being something akin to his left hand with his anger towards humans.

Coffee isn't exactly a drug, but is addictive. Some people says its a substitute for other drug... I mean addictions. But it's the caffeine. Side note, hundreds of years ago, the British sent ninja like spies into china to STEAL tea plants because that's how big a deal tea was. Caffeine had em Feinin THAT bad.

Yo i just realized he didnt finish the OG Apes 🦧 Im just now catching up on your Patreon drops. But stopped mid movie when it hit me. Ahh well too late now but yeah, the Caesar character was a VERY big deal in the older films when he Arrived. Not sure if its a spoiler but he was basically Vegeta but in a world FULL of Friezas aka humans that hate him.

Yeah about halfway thru writing that i realized i was separating Coffee and caffeine. I think I have a coffee addiction kuz I will demolish a whole pot of Decaf at work as l had chocolate syrup to add to it.
