Leo, Miguel’s dad was a drug lord for the cartel in Equador. Carmen found out. Didnt like it. He left her when she was pregnant OR she left him. When his dad went to Mexico, he became involved with another cartel. Had Miguel told him he was his son, I think it would have been very dangerous for Miguel. Hector already didnt care that he left his new wife and son (to lay low) because he thought she was only after his money. And Hector said that women and the government couldn’t be trusted. He was a very dangerous man and it was best Miguel kept that secret to himself. Im not saying Hector would have hurt Miguel or kidnapped him but he clearly didnt care for family at all. Hector made that clear. So had Miguel said something, Hector’s response would have hurt Miguel even worse than he already was. I also think at that point, after learning everything he did about Hector he might have been too ashamed to even tell him he was his son. He didnt want anything to do with him after that and might have felt he didnt deserve to know after the way Hector disrespected Carmen and her mom.

These 2 episodes of Miguel going to find his dad was underwhelming, he didn't even bother to tell him who he was. The show really didn't even explain why he was bad. Clearly, it was a plot point to just reinforce that Johnny is his new surrogate father.... WHATEVER. At least we got to see Johnny and Robbie bond as father as son more during the trip (I don't know how long that will last since Miguel is back). And I knew Silver would find out about Chozen; I don't know why Daniel thought that plan would work.

Back many years ago were I originally trained in Taekwon Do, two of my 4 main instructors were and bad a$$ ladies that were cops too, also two gentlemen that I trained with... some of the best at my Dojang.
