This is actually dope. This comedy in this was way ahead of its time. Rob McElhenney (who plays Mac) has frequently referred to It's Always Sunny as "Seinfeld on crack". This pitch was originally used when pitching the show to executives to describe a show about a group of selfish, immoral people in a "show about nothing" context, but much darker and more intense.

This is awesome!! Seinfeld is one ofvthe best shows of All time and literally just gets better and better as you go along.. the Classic episodes they have are almost Untouched in the sitcom world

I remember when Seinfeld first came out while I was growing up, and back then I used to think, “What’s the big deal about this show?” It just didn’t click for me. Now I’m 50, sitting down and watching it again, and it hits completely different. I finally get the humor — the little observations, the awkward moments, the everyday nonsense. It’s funny how age and life experience change your perspective, because I appreciate the show now in a way I never could back then.

Yeah, as a kid/teenager, I was never into the show when it was happening in real time. But nowadays, I find it funny and enjoyable.

The first and second season is so short because the studio was taking a pretty big risk on this show. its commonly called "the show about nothing" because truly thats what it was and we didn't do sitcoms like this at that time. It strayed from the typical week to week plot driven formula and even performed horribly in test screenings with NBC. Eventually they picked it up for 20+ eps a season because it was the most popular show airing, pulling in close to 25 million people every week! Not to mention the finale which saw i think it was around 70 million people watching live, thats superbowl numbers! lol. Now you see this style all time but this truly paved the way. Alot of sitcoms take the seinfeld approach now, even some of your favorites. For example Always Sunny and even The Office had huge inspo from seinfeld.

This show clicked for me and my friends right away when it aired. I think it was because it had a dry/sarcastic humor, they lived in the city like us, were not living in luxury, most of the stories centered around relationships, and the characters weren’t goodie two shoes—very flawed (practically villains to everyone they encountered), and seemed like real people. We shouldn’t like any of them but you do because their antics are ridiculously hilarious.

I see other people sharing their first experience with this show so i will share mine. I ignored it when i was a kid, it looked old to me too back then. My friend who is now a semi famous comedian , Andy Beningo, introduced me to it. Just told me i had to watch it, Andy does clean comedy, he was always the funniest kid in school. After 1 watch i was hooked, i didnt start on the first season because we just had to watch what was on TV that day, so some of this stuff feels new to me. Its without a doubt one of the best comedies of all time that inspired many of the shows and comedies you've already watched. Its gold and im glad we are getting it.

Sorry, not sorry, Elaine. If someone gives an ultimatum to get rid of the pet(s), the right response from the person is, "Hit the curb, buddy." Pets are family, while a relationship is often temporary. The show has not aged all that gracefully from 1989, but I was surprised at how funny it is still.

Love it or hate it, there is a reason this show is considered one of the best. I didn't truly start watching until the final season aired, but have steadily watched this whenever it is on. I really hope you stick with the series. Leo and comedies are always a win.
