A Cure for Wellness hits this same kind of paranoid psychological thriller vibe to it. Dane Dehaan is in it, Andrew from Chronicle. I don't think it's as good as this but I still liked it , and I enjoyed Dane's performance very very much, he's kind of underrated imo

YOOOOO. I had this dvd. Watched it I know over a dozen times and with other people. I NEVER CAUGHT THAT till now after you pointed out that "Which would be worse" line. He was still sane at the end of the movie and wanted to get the Lobotomy to go out as Himself. All this time I just believed he snapped again, and it was just a sad ending. Long story medium, I'm glad you finally seen it and now I'm seeing it in a new light. Side note its still fuckin with my head. 🤪

I watched this movie for the first time when I went to rehab and I was 2 months in and hadn't seen my kids. So this really really effed me up and I ended up having to walk out but eventually finished the movie when I left rehab. Phenomenal movie but very emotional and difficult to watch

Got here to watch this as soon as I could after getting the email. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I encourage you to get and read the book. Like always, for as good as Shutter Island is as a movie the book is even better.

This one of them movies where a second watch will blow your mind because you notice all the details and signs, Even the very first scene where he's throwing up on the boat is because of withdrawals from his medication, not seasickness! I for one don't think he really is a monster anyway, might be bad to say but if I found my wife murdered my children I don't know If i can say id react any differently!

God damn even though ive already seen this movie numerous times its just so damn amazing! The acting from everyone is phenomonal but WOW holy shit that last scene when they are trying to breakthrough to Leo up in the lighthouse is so damn good. His acting is insane, the facial expressions and how he goes from trying to believe to not to saying fuck you and then just breaking down with the picture just man top tier acting. This movie is so good, it can immerse you every single time if you let it. Great reaction, glad you finally checked this one out cause yeah its amazing.

In the book, Teddy/Andrew actually does regress back to his fantasy world, which forces him to face the lobotomy. Scorsese chose to make the movie's ending more ambiguous and open to debate. Even the author (Dennis Lehane) interprets that final line (which isn't in the book) as nothing more than a "momentary flash" of Andrew's sanity before he permanently slips back into his delusions. Simply brilliant. 🌞
