[Spoilers] This was a fire film. I really like the reveal at the end that her other babies might have lived several lifetimes and ultimately did what Evan did as well. Mind blown. I don't love the message that a good person like Evan was better off not existing. He does make a noble sacrifice at the end for everyone else's sake. It's a better ending than if Evan had simply returned things to the first timeline and concluded it's better to never change anything ever. That would be dumb. However, Evan should have gotten a happy ending as well. In real life, we understand the butterfly effect is real. The difference is we can't replay events after seeing the outcomes. So, the movie's message of caring about others and making choices that improve their lives is a good one. But our real happy ending is one where we make the best choices we can, and we achieve a good but imperfect outcome. It shouldn't be an ending where we achieve a great outcome by committing suicide.

Do you think this year you could start getting on the horror movie wagon more? You could bring in a whole new audience of people. Start with the rest of the Halloween series, then the Friday the 13th, then Childs Play, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. And start with the paranormal horror movies like the Paranormal Activity movies, Insidious, Conjuring... It would be great to see you venture more. It was cool to see reactions to Terrifier but those movies were just a gorefest to give off that shock factor. Don't let those ruin your taste in horror.

TBH this ending hits way harder than the one I saw back in the day. Sucks that test audiences basically forced them to change it to a less "brutal" ending when this one makes perfect sense.

i thought it was kinda weird that the butterfly effect is made out to be a small thing changing the future but when he stabs his hands in the class room that had no affect on the future pretty sure that would cause years of therapy and change his future

dont do 2. this is actually the alternate ending. the original theater ending has him as a kid say to kayley at a kids party that he hates her so she decides to live with her mom instead of the dad. they both end up walking past each other in nyc with only evan remembering what happened

Yes I thought that too. But some changes would be so minor that they wouldn't change anything. I was expecting him to make some small little scar on his forehead or something like that. Two great spikes through his palms in front of the teacher is wild. I'd expect some more changes because of that.

This is one of my favorite mindfuck films and I've never seen this ending. What a load of shit lol. They should have mixed them low-key. The extra scenes of how the others lives went was decent but the other ending for Evan was better where they see each other and go their separate ways with tons of implications and possibilities in the air.

Yeah, this is the very first version of the movie I saw back in the day... and the ending is pretty depressing. I had to go and watch the other alternate endings on YT to feel better, lol. That being said, this is easily one of my all-time favorite psychological thrillers and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do wish Ashton Kutcher did more films like this before settling into the "fuck-buddy rom-com" subgenre. His "freak outs" are just as entertaining as Leonardo DiCaprio's, imho (albeit in a different way). 😋 I also love his performance in "Just Married" (2003) alongside Brittany Murphy. That movie is basically a 90-minute comedy "freak-out fest" with Kutcher. 🤣

I love this movie but the ending I saw was he lived and told Kaylee when they were little he hated her so she would live with her mother and as adults they passed each other in the street not knowing each other… and with that he still saved her…
