One Battle After Another 💥 True Detective S1 🚬 No Other Choice 🫥 Oceans Thirteen 🎰 Better Call Saul 💼 I Saw The Devil 😈 OldBoy (2003) 👊🏽

Nathan

Nice great flick. Check out Dog Day Afternoon soon. Or maybe consider finishing the John wick series with John Wick 4.

WHERE IS THE BOYS AT

Edgar Gonzalez

Here we go fam, this has been asked for, for a minute now. Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, and Sterling Hayden. For the people that dont know, this film parodies the cold war fears the possibility of a nuclear war between the US and The Soviet Union.

We need that gabagool man please I got these cheese burgers man

Amazing movie. Kubrick is something else. All of his movies are fantastic and must-see's. You were talking the other day about things we'd like to see on the channel? More Kubrick. 2001, Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, and Spartacus are all solid, amazing classics. Pretty sure Full Metal Jacket and The Shining have already been seen?

Nathan

Agreed! Recently rewatched Barry Lyndon and appreciated it a lot more. Add Paths of Glory to that list as well!

1964, dang I remember watching this once with my brothers and it is a classic movie, funny, thanks Leo LY 💕🫶🏼💕

The "love making scene" in the beginning between the bomber and the refueling jet is probably the closest thing to a sex scene you will see of movies from this era due to censorship 😂

Peter Sellars is one of my all time favorite comic actors. Subtle and not at the same time. He's brilliant. Being There is fantastic, as is Ladykillers and, of course, the Pink Panther films. Love him!

Chaos T

4:00 that was 100% intentional by Kubrick. Really glad you picked up on that. The jet refueling the bomber is the closest thing to a sex scene you find from a film of this era with the censorship rules he had to follow 😂 The United States and Soviet Union were always trying to have the "biggest weapon". Kubrick throughout the film put in these sexual references pointing out the link between those at the top with seeking ultimate power as a form of sexual gratification, sexual arousal, etc. Pointing out the absurd nature of people at the time almost getting off from being in potential nuclear conflict with the Soviet Union.

astrobuckshot

Great reaction, Leo. You recognized the 'sex' theme right away. You were spot on. The innuendos go over most people's heads. BTW, Mandrake, the President and Dr. Strangelove were played by the same actor, Peter Sellers. He's a comedy legend.

VYV77

Worth the wait! You loved a character from this, and you loved a character from Smokey and the Bandit. You MUST check out The Hustler (1961). Thanks so much for this reaction.

VYV77

Dog Day Afternoon is one of my absolute favorite movies.

Edgar Gonzalez

I remember first watching play the police inspector Jacques Clouseau in "The Pink Panther", but even more notable for me was him starring as Chance Gardiner in the movie "Being There" R.I.P Peter Sellers

abz

Lets fuckin go Kubrick

abz

bro you are correct, this movie begins with 2 planes having sex.

GuRillA_RACg_102

You should do Gridiron Gang or Hunger Games or Black Lightning top tier

Chaos T

The Dr. Strangelove character is based on what happened with German scientists after WWII. With Operation Paperclip on the US side and Operation Osoaviakhim for the USSR, thousands of Nazi scientists (some who probably needed to stand trial for their crimes) helped work on various military programs after WWII for the Superpowers. Oftentimes this was nuclear research. Dr. Strangelove's paralysis and his independent right hand seem to be a mental state caused because he's a US citizen, changed his ridiculous German name, and working for his former enemy however underneath he's still a Nazi supporting fascist ideals. When laying out his disturbing plans for a mineshaft society, you slowly see he can finally be who he is (Mein Führer, I can walk! 😂 ) because the solution he offered to the US president, who seemingly agreed with the plan, is along the lines of what the Nazi's ultimate goal was; a world where the old order was destroyed and a new order is built based on a twisted view of purity, hierarchy, etc. I also feel it's Kubrick's commentary on the state of the US government heads and industrial military complex increasingly becoming fascist/authoritarian in their thinking. What he feared would increasingly become the reality shortly after this film was released when Vietnam popped off. Playing three roles in this film, Peter Sellers acting was superb and rightfully was nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role. The "Mein Führer, I can walk!" line was completely improvised and was an indication Sellers understood the assignment.

Chaos T

Given the craziness of recent events, "Eyes Wide Shut" is extremely relevant and worth a watch.

Astraeos

Barry Lyndon is a Top 3 movie of all time for me lol

CS

i watched this when i was a teenager, never realized Mandrake, the president, and Dr Strangelove were all the same actor. Seems obvious now that I'm paying attention.

CS

ahhh I knew I recognized that General Ripper - that's captain McCluskey! That Michael shot in The Godfather. Shot him right in the forehead and made him lose all his precious bodily fluids.

Nathan

love too much to be able to narrow a few movies down like that but it is amazing. shot on nasa lenses it truly is a one of a kind flick

Nathan

gotta recommend an EXTREMELY underrated movie called Matewan starring James Earl Jones, its a deeply moving movie about the american zietgeist in the virginia coal region. so good, was the highlight of my 2025

Itss_NattyJ

I don’t remember if you have already, but react to the series Fallout (available on Prime) for more action/comedy/drama on the topic of nuclear war and rebuilding afterwards. It’s based on the post-apocalyptic survival video game franchise set 200 years after a 2077 nuclear war in America, with corrupt factions in the wasteland and vault dwellers in underground fallout shelters. I think you’d enjoy it. Totally bingeable with just 2 seasons and season 3 expected next year.

EZ

Please watch the Bojack Unbound DBZ movie before you hop back into the anime for some more Peak Gohan arua !

Mr. Chumpus

fuck off with your cartoon shit

EZ

Why is it so mad?

Chaos T

Weirdly, some of those the themes that pop up in Dr. Strangelove are within Fallout. Love the series.

I am so glad you reacted to this. It is a favorite of mine, especially if you understand a bit about the world at that time. The name Bat Guano always makes me laugh because guano is 'sh!t'. The actor riding the bomb is Slim Pickens, who was a rodeo rider and veteran before becoming an actor.

Danger Tomato

Lol I asked for this years ago its here woohoo

DRIP DROP

We getting that sopranos doe or we cooked?

Filby Pott

So... Strangelove was a Nazi who was hired by the U.S. after WWII for his scientific knowledge, and his plan to "rebuild" was actually a plan to create a "master race" by only selecting "the right people" to survive, and turning women into cattle for breeding. That's why he created the doomsday device. He's utterly, totally insane.

"JFK"

Interesting choice. I think this movie is OK. Gets you thinking for sure, but I've never looked at it as the masterpiece that some people say it is. Don't get me wrong, it's artfully great and exceptionally well done. But personally I've never really reacted with awe and amazement with this movie, moreso introspection and intrigue. Great acting.
