Scream to my acknowledgment was my first ever horror movie experience as a child. I walked into the living room after was put to bed and woke up sometime later on to only walk in on the chasing scene within beginning of the movie. Aha

Wes Craven was the janitor dressed as Freddy in the first movie, perfectly meta because he is also the director of Nightmare on Elm St. Another example, Randy (Jamie Kennedy) is watching Halloween talking to the TV saying "Jamie look behind you!" So he's calling her by her real life name, not her character's name in the movie. And it's perfectly meta because (we as) the audience can say the exact same thing and it still fits the situation. Also to answer your question, Wes passed before the 4th was finished? Idk don't quote me, sometime around then and all the rest are an homage to his legacy. I personally like each for different reasons, but I have yet to see the 7th

Came here to say the same. Was NOT expecting a double Scream drop before the very long awaited (and shortly promised) Seinfeld reaction. I don't horror 11 months out of the year. It just feels wrong to horrify oneself when it's so nice outside...haha.

It's Leo, so I watched anyways. They're not so scary when the sun is out! I don't know if I've seen these since the 90's and the gore is fairly mild compared to some of the films I've seen since then (hence, 1 month of horror a year). I forgot how meta it is and appreciated all the throwback horror references.

If a new horror movie comes out, & it starts with a big name celeb, (not the lead) then they're gonna die immediately. Cant afford to have Jada Pickett, Drew Barrymore, etc on set for months. They're usually there for 1 day of shooting then✌🏿. Which reminds me, WATCH THE BLACKENING. Perfect timing between scream & the new Scary movie.
