This movie is absolutely fire and as a scottish person, mel gibson playing these roles is always good, this feels like american braveheart to me lol

Jordan

You should check out Django Unchained or Inglorious Basterds if you haven't seen them yet. Matter of fact every Tarantino movie would be cool to see your reaction. If you saw them and they just aren't available then no worries but you would definitely enjoy them. Happy 4th!

Bendik

Happy 4th, Leo! And happy 4th to every American who reads this! Best wishes from Norway!

dabbingcannasseur

Childhood me assumed Jason Isaacs was probably an evil person because he was Colonel Tavington/Lucious Malfoy... ultimate evil actor haha. Meanwhile by all accounts he's one of the nicest people to work with lol

James Therian

Braveheart and The Patriot are Mel Gibson classics. Happy 4th!

Brian McG

Definitely gonna watch Glory but you can't drop The Patriot and have me not immediately watch that shit. Thanks a lot, my dude. I appreciate you!

Great choice for July 4 movies. They show the show the sacrifice that all Americans made to build our country. We owe it to them to make sure America survives.

Man, when Susan finally talks on the beach, and says "Papa, don't go. I'll say anything", I absolutely lose it. Every. Time. This movie is so well acted and so emotional, it pulls on my heart strings every time I watch it. Fuck me, I love this movie.

Michele Pérez

I’ve seen this movie multiple times & shed a lot of tears during the movie. I thought I was done by the end of the movie. But then, you, LEO, had to evoke another emotional moment by the words you conveyed at the end. You’re a GOOD MAN Leo. A very good man & you make the world a better place. Thank you for that.

Chaos T

He also played Captain Gabriel Lorca in Star Trek. Dude killed it in that role. That was villainy I didn't see coming.

berk henkel

Such a great film! Mel Gibson is a beast!

Tami Ramos

Thank you for watching this! I wish you could react to Young Washington. Once it is streaming please do. George is popular right now. There is also a good History Channel film about his entire life called “Washington” (2020) staring Nicholas Rowe. But in the meantime, PLEASE react to a series about this time period that’s called “Turn: Washington’s Spies.” It’s a 4 season series. You won’t regret it. You will see many emotions in that series as well. Historic films are the best. I also suggest “Gettysburg” (1993) and “Gods & Generals” (2003). These two are about the Civil War.

Tami Ramos

Combat veteran here. Sometimes, as you saw, war is the only thing some nations know and that causes us to retaliate or lose everything. They don’t want to talk it over and they don’t want compromise. That is the unfortunate thing. Please also know that in this war specifically, you have to think about the time frame and how people conducted themselves in that time period.

Please watch "Ransom" Classic Mel Gibson movie!

***ROAR*** was a tv show that Heath Ledger starred in when he was young and first got famous. Here is info----> Roar is a 1997 fantasy adventure television series created by Shaun Cassidy and Ron Koslow, which famously launched the career of a young Heath Ledger. Set in the 5th century in Ireland, the show follows Conor (Ledger), an orphaned Celtic prince, as he fights to unite the warring tribes and fend off the invading Roman Empire. The action-packed, sword-and-sorcery series features magic, myths, and a supernatural, immortal Roman centurion named Longinus. Despite a talented cast that included Vera Farmiga and Keri Russell, Fox canceled the series during its first season due to low ratings. Only 13 episodes were produced

Totally does, I remember seeing this during high-school and still get teary eyed watching it here in 2026

It is a work of historical fiction, though it is inspired by the broad events of the American Revolution and several real-life figures. The main character, Benjamin Martin (played by Mel Gibson), is entirely fictional. He was created as a composite character based on several actual Revolutionary War leaders, most notably Francis Marion—a South Carolina militia officer known as the "Swamp Fox". Marion and others used similar guerrilla warfare tactics to ambush British forces and melt into the local swamps.Similarly, the film's villain, Colonel William Tavington, is a highly dramatized, fictionalized character inspired by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton. While Tarleton was a ruthless British cavalry commander, he was not the sociopath depicted in the film, and he survived the war.The movie also invents or heavily alters several major events for dramatic effect:The Church Incident: The scene where the British burn a church filled with townspeople never happened during the American Revolution. It was a fabricated storyline loosely inspired by a real World War II massacre in France. The Battles: While the film features battles based on historical engagements like the Battle of Cowpens, the combat and outcomes are heavily Hollywoodized.

Leo, I am so touched by your reaction to this movie. I was right there with you getting torn up about all of the senseless & cruelty. So glad to watch this you , much love bro

kfrex84

Jason Isaac's is one of the all-time greatest! He nails every role and I have read that he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet too :D

kfrex84

2:50:25 Leo, the question of "why" has been a question historians have been trying to address for thousands of years. Something from "The Art of Warfare on Land" by David G. Chandler has stuck in my mind for decades. He observed "Over the 3,650 years of recorded history, it has been estimated that the human race has known only 292 years entirely free from the horrors of organized warfare, and one suspects that in those supposedly peaceful years much overt hostility was detectable, even if only on a small scale." This was published in 1974 and not much has changed since then.
