Hey Patrons!

Now that I have all my September videos up and out I can get their Deconstructed videos finished and out as well, starting with the mighty Fight With Seymour from Final Fantasy X.

Will likely drop the next (Karst and Agatio) over the weekend while I'm working on other things. Till then, enjoy today's deconstruction! 🙂

GaMetal Deconstructed #4: Fight With Seymour (Final Fantasy X)

In the GaMetal Deconstructed series, I'm breaking down GaMetal remixes internally and giving you insight on their creation! Today we're taking a look at Fight With Seymour from Final Fantasy X, one of Nobuo Uematsu's most unique boss themes. Enjoy!

Very cool!! I'm very interested in how you get each of your tracks (especially the audio ones) to be so clean. Is it aggressive noise-gating and silence stripping?

Glad you liked it Awesoman! If you mean like the guitar tracks (since they're the most likely to have noise in spots where it's being recorded but not played), its a little bit of gating and a lot of just automating the volume down to muted any time there isn't anything going on. I can never quite find the perfect gate level that doesn't occasionally mess up cut the volume too early (ESPECIALLY on long sustained lead guitar notes), so I really only use gates to cover the most minimal noise (fret noise/buzzing etc) and handle the rest with volume automation. Not sure how often it's seen in this particular video but at times when I have my automation visible you can see me dropping the volume completely after a lead guitar section and such.
