Yes, exactly! That's the term I'd use for demons in this series "psychopath". They don't fully understand emotions, bonds or empathy but can get good at faking understanding those things and using em to their advantage. A literal race of psychopaths, who consume and subjugate other species and possess overwhelming power... Frieren was right to attack on sight.

Ted Bundy had a number of tools to capitalize on his good looks and seemingly harmless nature. John Wayne Gacy jr had his bag of tricks too, one of his most infamous was the magic handcuff trick which I cannot for the life of me believe that gus fell for. I'm a serial killer buff, a lot of their tactics really shouldn't have been so effective. I think it's cuz the term Serial Killer or how they operated wasn't very well known in their day. They lasted cuz of general ignorance.

The demons are psychopaths, in human terms I'd say that Frieren is on the spectrum. She's got emotions, feels guilt and can build bonds, but these things are slow to progress or understand even to her. She didn't even really realize how much she valued Himmel til he was gone, and by the time she made that realization her other two comrades were already close to gone themselves.

You were asking Kuma, I believe, about the difference in lacking emtions between Frieren and demons. As for demons I agree about them being psychopaths. As for Frieren I would point into the schizoid personality. In short: schizoids have empathy but lack the ability to show it, they're relationships are more like confidants than friends and barely have any, they have a lacking affect almost never changing and some more other things I can't recall. I recommend looking into that
