They say you can have as many free actions as you're DM allows. It doesn't say anywhere that you can do a free action anytime even on other people's turns. It's up to the DM but in this case if it was intended to be active all the time why wouldn't it say this? Pathfinder is really REALLY good about being very specific about things. It's up to the DM. I and millions of others wouldn't allow it as RAW and RAI but it's up to each DM weather they want to circumvent the two handed weapon or two weapon fighting rules with an extremely low value magic item that make them Gods over any two handed weapon using build. That's all DM prerogative.

I recently got a animated shield recently and it's like 4,150k+ gp to get the shield bonus for 4 rounds only. It's if want to attack it take my entire first round of attacks to activate the shield. Not a free action. This is why I post this here. Which is better? Depends on the piece value, level, and such but just saying RAI. If something is extremely more OP than the other what is Paizo trying to say?

I like the fact that they forgot the rope bridge had been cut and they want to take 20 tons of treasure across a goblin hemp rope. Lol. OK, Nick addressed it. Lol.
