For Skid and Jason: I have used Ralph Bakshi's LotR as the ultimate litmus test of friendship for the last 20 years, I absolutely love that movie. Also the Evil Dead movies are peak

Retroactive perception checks - hindsight is a natural 20

Tenet was ok at best. And sorry Nick Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing and made that movie. You nailed it Nick. You wanted a fun campy batman instead of a Dark Knight which this movie was based on. The movie WAS great. You went in with a wrong preceived mindset which ruined it for you and only a few others. You have to understand. Don't go into a movie with preconceived notions and you'll find you see the movie for the amazing experience it could be. Like people who read the book first rarely like the movies because they think it skittles be a scene for scene adaptation or it horrible. That's just human psychology 100%. The original Gadiator was amazing. The second one was just OK. It just didn't have the emotion of the first.

The Ralph Bakshi movies are awesome. Watch Wizards.

Here's what you should do. If players are doing weird stuff and say i shot this person. You as the GM should have them roll the appropriate skill check like buff to disguise that they are trying to ready an action or a similar check. If they fail that you shouldn't automatically let the players get a surprise round or even start an initiative. Remember that the bad guys are doing the same. They should have their defenses high and be reading an action or attack. You always let the PCs know this with successful sense motive checks. This makes most combats make sense. This really shows how ambushes and proactive defenses and defensive positioning work more like in real life. Home field advantage is a thing and combat starting on your terms is also a thing.

If someone is confused they attack the person that attacked them. That's how confusion has always worked. Eric Mona knows this. You cheeky bastard.

Did Skid forget about a situation that should drastically help the main badie in the sex tent from taking any damage?
