I started listening to your later episodes and now I'm listening to these early ones. It's interesting to notice how you guys changed and developed the podcast from these early episodes. The recaps in these feel a lot less cohesive and jump around more. Still super fun to listen to but I love how much you added later on with the poetry synopses and other additions.

Just did the rewatch and this episode, more than any other of the first season, highlights Janeway's core beliefs and why she was such a strong captain. That speech about why she can't kill the guy using Neelix's lungs gives me goosebumps.

Tofino! That's where my family and I would vacation in the summer! I think we even stayed at Ocean Village one summer! Fun times!

I was lucky enough to get to live south Vancouver Island for five years and not once was I able to make it up there. One day I’ll get to visit Tofino!

The cloud! "There's coffee in that nebula!" 🤣😁

It's awesome and well worth the trip! It's a little pricey but it's not super crowded especially the beaches. 😎

According to the subtitles Neelix calls Paris a Rectilian Vulture. Which makes me think of a vulture made out of rectangles.

The part of this episode has always chafed me was when the Captain tells the Vidians that any aggressive moves will be met with the deadliest response. In later episodes, she has the ability to attack but doesn't.

I'm a bit late commenting on this episode b/c I came late to the podcast. Anyway, why are the medical beds called "clamshell beds"?

Jenners

Oh, and did anyone notice that they changed Kes's wig on this episode? Thank goodness!

In discussion of life after a transplant Garrett makes a good point that just because the original person had passed doesn’t mean that the organ is not helpful. It is also important to understand that transplants in today’s world are also short lived solutions. They have an expected age when they too will fail which doesn’t relate to the recipients age. That being said this is the future and with all the modifications medical science has-hopefully- found ways to address this.
