I forgot how good this episode is. I ship J/C but I have to admit, Kellen’s personality was perfect for Chakotay. No-nonsense with business, competent, and very playful underneath. I would have loved to have seen that Chakotay more often. And I kept watching Robert Beltran’s face as he showed his vulnerability. It felt raw. I know the ‘stand alone’ rule dominated, but it’s no wonder he has trust issues with women after Seska. Truth is, in current superhero genre’s , we have multiverses. I see Kellen’s inability to act of the spark as a nexus point (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and in some timeline branch, she stays. Because they were very good together. Again, apologies to J/C shippers. Since I know how that ends, a part of me wishes he had had an opportunity for a real relationship. It would have messed up the series, but it would have been great for the character.

We need Robbie to sing more! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Dee McGee

Love the end where we see Chakotay writing in a journal.

Yeminem

Michael Madsen wasn’t in Pulp Fiction. He declined the role of Vincent Vega. 10:00 minute mark.

Doni Marie Sanchez

Garrett, neither of my brothers in law can grow facial hair and neither are Asian. One is Cuban the other is Guatemalan. So you’re not alone 😉

Dustin Snyder

I thought I heard Jennifer Lien's voice once too.

James Morrow

I can’t remember last Sunday, but Garrett remembers the character name of an Ocampan guest star from the pilot five seasons before? I am beyond impressed!!

Andrew Murray

The episode title is kind of a misnomer because EVERYONE forgets (or forgot....) her.

Andrew Murray

I don't know how most shows do it but take one example (not Star Trek) - Star Gate Atlantis. Some early eps featured Richard Dean Anderson, and he was billed as "Special Guest appearance" given his already established character, but not a regular of the SG-A show. Or I think he was billed as "Special Guest" in the later SG-1 seasons in which he is not a regular cast member and same with Michael Shanks in the seasons he was not a regular, but turned up occasionally. I don't know how it would work in Trek but for a couple of examples, (not sure it is actually the case): "Special Guest Appearance: Leonard Nimoy" in TNG's Unification I I & II for example (or maybe more particularly Mark Lenard as Spock's father). or even Whoopi Goldberg I think gets the "Special Guest" billing in some cases as she is a recurring but not regular TNG cast member.

Bronwen Duffield

It was less her voice and more the short of her laying on the biobed that reminded me of Kes.

Andrew Murray

I thought this one was with the character Lindsay, who no one seems to remember - or she is one that died in "Caretaker" (or "Basics" (around those early seasons) ) but has been resurrected and is actually a person of an indigenous Delta Quadrant species (and not actually human or any alpha-quadrant species)

Andrew Murray

So Virginia has Gillian Anderson's face, and Jennifer Lien's voice. what next......

Andrew Murray

sounds like she's reading the action directions in the script (is that the correct term...), rather than playing out the scene

Andrew Murray

I say the theme is whatever Garrett just quoted from Neelix.

Karen Chuplis

Not only did Chakotay not shove the tracer down in that scene I notice him backing away and thought to myself “not very chivalrous Chak”. Which is actually not real in character for him. I don’t think it would have helped actually once that beam touched her, but it was still odd. I can’t imagine him not actually leaping in there.

Tashicat

i never liked this ep n it was never about JC shipping, its just pointless overall. to me its like someones last min filler idea to meet an episode quota or something

Irene Artho

I love Garrett's bit about Love and that we are all the same energy and should not have reason to hate. I fully agree! Maybe Garrett should go into politics (Garrett for President) - or give seminars about love :) Robbie should be more active in the singing business. Very nice voice!

Mike Gu

Total Kes feels with Virginia's character. 1000%. Classic TDF. 不好忘记的!

Vanessa Pacheco

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Candyman.

Stephanie Baker

When this episode first aired on TV I was sad because when Harry explained courtship to 7 and no action followed, i knew their potential relationship was doomed. This Kim/7 shipper was disappointed.

Irene Artho

So... people will forget about this species within a few hours - I wonder how many hours we're talking about. During the episode, how do they keep remembering her after a good night sleep or not talking to her for a few hours (due to sleep and other activities). Also technically they would only remember the last day or so, and not how she got on board_ And how do pheromones work on devices..? :D Also I agree with Garrett about her voice being similar to Kes, very much so! This episode reminds me a bit of the TNG episode Clues (S4 E14).

B obrien

Robbie. I like your beard now. Not too bushy.

Lisa Minnesma

Thank you for having Tim Russ on the podcast!!! I love it when members of the cast come for a chat! 😊

Christopher Collins

I hate the title of this episode because I always forget this episode by it’s title but once I hear the synopsis I instantly recognize this episode. This episode reminds me of a Harry Kim episode from season 6 Ashes to Ashes with a crew member who passed away and then cones back to life as another alien. I always wish that this episode was done better with her onboard the ship longer and showed the problems with a crew that can’t recall her species the longer she is one Voyager rather than someone erasing her memory. It would have been interesting if the Voyager crew constantly had to ask her who are you and constantly think she was a intruder onboard the ship because they don’t recall how she got onboard Voyager.

Christopher Collins

I always thought that was odd that this episode never dealt with that during the episode. They should have had problems with the Voyager crew thinking she was an intruder onboard the ship and everyone acting as though they have memory problems of her. It would have been interesting if the EMH or Seven of Nine were the only ones who did not struggle with their memories of her being onboard due to technology helping their memory.

Christopher Collins

I never realized Andrew Robinson directed this episode. That is so interesting that the actor who portrayed Garek directed this episode. I am not a big fan of this episode. It has interesting camera choices but plot is not all that interesting.

Paul Johnston

I think that quite a few Chakotay episodes are strong. This one and Nemesis stand out for me

Take Aways: 1. RDM's beard is straight up awesome. 2. This episode is completely forgettable. It does not move the Voyager story forward in either terms of the overall quest to get home, nor does it move any of the character stories forward. This would be true regardless if the entire incident was forgotten or not. Nothing added. 3. Janeway's hair was trash. Looked like she had not washed it in over 2 or 3 weeks. Random observation: I just saw RDM in an old episode of Quantum Leap. OMG.

Here is my personal truth for love. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
