Congratulations Grandpa Robbie!

SnazzyO

It IS a cute episode. I especially like that the crew all know these stories. Robbie- there’s not much you could have done with that dialog. The writers haven’t had Tom say ‘I love you’ yet — that’s kind of a glaring issue. It’s been theoretically a year since B’Elanna’s admission. This was an ideal time for those words to be spoken. *sigh* lost opportunity. Something I noticed - the configuration of the ship definitely makes the pilot the ‘Captain’ of the Delta Flyer. Paris was sure barking orders like he was in charge although Tuvok outranked him. Wonder if that was on purpose or just the snapshot of ‘crisis mode’.

Kirby Burgess

Robbie saying “the captain would marry neelix” took me OUT

Dee McGee

Robbie's background is a picture of Voyager from the episode Timeless! Edited to add: Garrett trying to keep in his laygh durting Robbie's Do-over!! 😂

Donald Jordan

Hey Delta Flyer's, Major here. Just wanted to drop a line to tell you how much I appreciate listening to this podcast. For the last several years my life has been the most loneliest period I've ever known. This podcast makes me feel less lonely and pathetic to the world at large the moment that I start the episode until it eventually concludes. I've felt like I've laughed with all of you and even cried at times. Just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving me fun and kindness to listen to in this world. I love you all, Grant.

Doni Marie Sanchez

The Do-over performances of y’all dying were Oscar worthy! 😆👏🏼

Don Eitner

I can't imagine the Voyager producers allowing the male actors to grow facial hair -- you couldn't even NOT have sideburns, for crying out loud.

Rich Gross

So far I’ve learned that a 3-year-old Scarlett Pomers was credited in a video where Garrett was uncredited in the same video. Garrett’s agent failed on that one!

Tashicat

Maybe the redshirt up on the ledge in the cave was setting up a pattern enhancer where it wouldnt face interference from the phasers digging out the flyer

Samantha

Naomi is too cute in this ep. I loved the different perspective, this kid growing up on the ship with a million aunts and uncles. Tiny little thing coming onto the bridge in her overalls. The tuvok speech was great. Neelix in the ready room. The water guy looked creepy. That's my one complaint.

Kassandra

I loved the friendship between Seven and Naomi and in this episode it's the very beginning. Regarding the seat belts I always wondered why there were never ones. Even star trek actors worked on that topic, like Gary Graham, who played Soval on ENT and Tanis in VOY "Cold Fire" 😅. He has got a band called The Sons of Kirk and one of their songs is called No seat belts on the Enterprise https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zdisv2ZF7TE

bakura

Paused at the part about naomi's age to say I'm going to assume it's the part alien physiology that makes her age faster like how klingon's age faster than humans. Worf's son Alexander aged like a klingon and he was only 3/4 klingon.

Andrew Murray

Assume you mean Robbie's beard. In Voyager, the show itself, I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in previous Delta Flyer eps that their sideburns are "stuck on" (i.e. makeup & hair department). The only genuine beard (in TNG...heading off topic for a second) is Will Riker (Jonathon Frakes *real* beard), and perhaps Sisko's (Avery Brooks) goatee....although that might be pushing it, and it may well be make-up.

Andrew Murray

clearly Janeway needs to have a word with Picard about "children on the bridge". Picard says "no kids!", Janeway says "wanna be my captain's assistant?".

Andrew Murray

Seaquest DSV was a promising show....but maybe it fell over because the Jonathon Brandis character was a bit too much like Wesley Crusher, a stereotype "brainy kid", and a talking Dolphin....to top it off.

Craig Main

‘Tom just has one child’ - eh, no, he has his lizard babies #neverforget

sab ewell

Tom and B'Elanna wanted a family, they wanted more than one kid so I fully believe they have 2 or 3. Hence why my questions has kids lol

Raita

In the books they get Michel, so at least two kids in the Beta Canon.

bakura

Obviously nothing against you guys but Scarlett Pomers was my favourite actor on the show simply for how mature she was and how good she was. I always wondered what it was like for her on set with all these grown ups in funny costumes and what kind of relationship she had with Ethan Phillips and Jeri Ryan given how she acted with them, most particularly Jeri. Also what was it like being on set with no children her age.

Stephanie

I have always been impressed with how big the Wildman's quarters are. Later on after Tom and B"Elanna get married are expecting the baby they still live in one room. And they are some of the highest ranked members of the crew.

Nancy Lapierre

Robbie's background is from timeless I think.

Matt

One of the coolest things about this podcast, outside of the amazing Voyager and Trek insight, is how much Robbie and Garrett are in tune with and knowledgeable about mental health. Case in point, Garrett's reference to how abandonment can be triggered is not something you hear every day on a podcast about SciFi. This show goes far beyond your typical podcast and really dives into the aspects of every member question and how people can be truly affected in situations today. Bravo!

Irene Artho

I was thinking the same thing. Her pregnancy took less than 9 months as well (as far as I recall).

DebbieD

Garrett, loved your intro!

bakura

i know right, and when you think about it's rather impressive they could get quarters like that as voyager wasn't made for families onboard like the enterprise. yes intrepid class ships are made for long term exploration like galaxy class ships but intrepid class are much smaller with a smaller crew and doesn't come across as allowing for crew members to bring there families with them like galaxy class ships, if they did then they would have a real school onboard rather than having naomi rely on the doctor for education.

Christina

I have to agree with Robbie on this one… The themes in this episode are very real, especially how we, as adults, talk to kids about difficult topics.

s.oneill2020

I loved the new Intro. 🙂 Next week we'll finally see old Harry from the 90's. I'm so curious how Garret reacts on that. 😀 BTW: Sorry for my rusty english. I assure you, my German is much better. 😅😂

Rob Salvaggio

In regards to Naomi, she’s half Ktarian. In Star Trek, Ktarians she faster than most humanoids which is why they had to age her character faster. She can be 4 or 5 but still look and develop like an 8 year old

Jennifer Z

I don't know why I laughed so hard at RDM's death message to B'Elanna in the do-over. It was so over the top and hammy. RIP my sides.

Cheryl Fink

Loved how Garrett bloopered at the end as Harry and said “Roxanne” - I just giggled away! Well done on the comeback Garrett and Robbie!

Theresa Volz

Wonderful episode. Love this podcast! You are both so very talented and make me laugh. Please keep this going even after the episodes are finished. 😊

s.oneill2020

Furz is more kind of violent language for fart in german. The more common and word is Pups. 🙂 So many words in german for just one thing. 😅

Kris Hansen

I'm chuckling over the people who did not recognize Robbie at that dinner. My Trek friends and I spot actor look-alikes all the time, usually people who look similar to how the actors look now. I just saw Robbie's brother in Oak Park, IL, about two weeks ago.

Irene Artho

I find it weird that the holograms from the story recognised Samantha and other users. That would mean these programs being run allover the world (or planets plus ships) exchange user data in order to recognise one of the billions of children that used the program years ago? Not sure if I am impressed by the technology or creeped out by it!

Christopher Collins

I think one of my favorite stories as a child as far as books was Go Dogs, Go by Dr. Sues. I loved the colors in that book and “Do you like my hat?” I loved the books the Polar Express, June 29, 1999 by David Wiesner and If you give a Mouse a Cookie.

Stephanie Baker

“I do not”. “Good-by” I read this book to my kids so many times. Go Dog Go by Eastman and very Dr Seuss like

Estelle Keller

Johnny Carson was announced by Ed McMahon, Here’s Johnny…so it avoided that issue. And well I can see someone not recognizing Robbie if he didn’t say yes ma’am though would it have been weird if they knew Nick Locarno but not Tom Paris.

Kelly Bee (CaptainKathryn)

LOL This was amazing, so many laughs in this one. Except the part about the active shooter at that con - that sounds so scary!

Emily Schuler

Maybe Samantha kept her specific copy on her computer and gave it to Naomi to use?

Eric Bennett

They cover this in the books too. She was able to join Starfleet soon after returning from the Delta Quadrant because she was as tall as the teens (she joined Starfleet with Icheb sometime after getting back to Earth). if I recall correctly she took a break from it because she wasn't ready emotionally for it. Something like that.

Dawn Smith

I’m very late to this conversation as I’m behind on watching and refuse to “ jump ahead! “ I must watch in order. Anyway I’m listening to the audiobook The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway and it comes up that her mother was a children’s author and had written some of the Flotter holos. Too bad that wasn’t “ canon” and written into the show! Excellent story, btw, and read by Kate Mulgrew!

Dawn Smith

Also, this was the first episode I showed my grandkids and niece. I also collect action figures. They wanted to know where my Naomi was, but they never made one, so I had one custom made! I also have a Samantha ordered!

Joseph Zodda

There is something just so pleasant watching two old friends reminiscing about the old days. Its just fun to watch. So thanks for it!

ST Fan CB

I am going to have to go with RDM on the issue of the route Naomi takes to the bridge. She starts by coming out of a turbo lift into a hallway. This leads her to encounters with various groups and hiding out in the transporter room. She then reenters the turbo lift and tells it deck 1 bridge. Why didn't she just go to the bridge from the other turbo lift? Full time turbo lift operators on duty? Come on man. I watched the M. Jackson music video on YouTube. I saw the group playing the Chinese Soldiers but could not pick out Garrett from the group.

Emily Schuler

Remember, she's half Katarian. They age faster. In the episode where she's born, the Doctor mentions that her teeth would come through in a couple weeks. Story-wise they had to find a way to age her more quickly than a human child to include her in the plot.
