garrett: you can't just send a virus and everybody starts turning into the borg everybody in March 2023: "yeah, about that"

A true delight. My only criticism is it’s another ‘the Doctor tinkers with his program and it goes badly.’ This is a byproduct of emphasis on Janeway/Seven/Doctor. I wonder if it made an actual ratings improvement? ETA: the scrapbook was PRICELESS

"You...are dismissed!" - One of Kate's best moments in the series :D There was a theory on another site that Kate used a body double for the "lower back pain" moment and I'm glad to hear from Bob she was a good sport and did it herself. You could tell everyone was having a blast in that scene!

Peggy

Thanks for sharing the great Album memories, Robbie !

i think this is my fav EMH ep of the enitire series :p frfr well, besides message in a bottle but this ones the better one imo

Andrew Murray

A play on words - episode title likely inspired by "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" (novel) but with a Star Trek twist as usual.

Andrew Murray

The synopsis Garrett just read is not as per the above written synopsis "The Doctor's colorful daydreams are intercepted by alien raiders, who glean enough information about Voyager to launch an attack." this is not the Paramount+ version which is even more brief: "The Doctor's overactive imagination leads Voyager into real trouble"

Andrew Murray

If you want comedy then Lower Decks should find a way to "recruit" Nic Locarno - perfect "lower deck" candidate.... :) then Boimler can constantly confuse him with Tom Paris.

Andrew Murray

Bill Vallely is primarily an illustrator, as in comics, animated shows etc, John Bruno (director this ep), you might find him in his "other" day job in VFX working on James Cameron films)

Andrew Murray

that movie Robbie was talking about "Trapped Alive" sounds like something between "Aliens", "Die Hard" and "Daylight", and "The Thing".

Andrew Murray

The Doc's romantic/flirty fantasy of the Captain, Torres and Seven could be considered a little creepy (a call-back, I wonder to Reg Barkley's fantasies with his fictitious version of the Enterprise-D crew generally and of a certain Counsellor in particular).

Andrew Murray

Doctor's response to the criticism about his sketches "I'm a Doctor not an illustrator!"

Kelly Bee (CaptainKathryn)

The song the Doctor makes up about Tuvok in the beginning always has me rolling lol. Robbie's rendition was hilarious and on point!

About Prodigy: I recall that around the time Prodigy premiered, one of the creators said they loved this episode of VOY and thought it would be interesting if Admiral Janeway had tried to make the ECH standard on Starfleet ships. Thus, we have a Holo-Janeway and Admiral Janeway in Prodigy. :)

Love the episode and this podcast was fantastic! Great to see Bob Picardo as well! Loved Robbie’s photos

That singular moment in that 'daydream' scene with the Doctor and B'Elanna... Where Tom waves pathetically with that blissfully ignorant smile... Omg that's probably my favorite Tom Paris scene. And my favorite emoji from the Star Trek discord server. Too adorable and hilarious at the same time. Kudos Robbie for making me giggle over and over from barely two seconds of a scene.

Amy Tudor

Great episode :D very funny :D so wonderful to see Bob again and a great tour of Album, Robbie! Thank you for sharing :D

Estelle Keller

I hope we get to see Album again. Ofc I want to know and see more photos of roles from the past. I appreciated that Garrett was entertained by it too. Fun episode and great to see Bob. And yes the song is an ear worm..

Jeff deRhodes

This episode and recap were just awesome. The Hierarchy agrees.

Kassandra

I absolutely LOVE this episode. And I was sooo hoping that Bob would talk with Robbie and Garrett about this episode, and they brought him in. Thank you so much, this Delta Flyers episode was a blast <3

Alison O'Konski

OMG, this episode and "Author, Author" are my two fave funny eps. Thank you for this!

Christopher Collins

I had no idea the character inspiration for Flox came from this episode and the actor who portrayed him passed away in his 50’s back in 2013. He did a great job.

Christopher Collins

That photo album was one of the best things of this review. I hope Garrett does something like this in the future.

OMG!!! Robbie and the Album! I absolutely love that! It's funny how you can go so far back into your past like that. I just have my yearbooks from High School and boy...brings back memories of my past as well.

Christina

Love that Robbie has an album. I’m an avid digital scrapbooker. Definitely scan that stuff to preserve it. I did it with my grandparents photos from early 1900s Latvia. This is one of my fave eps. Absolutely hilarious! Wish there were more comedic eps like this.

Loved the intro with RDM showing us his scrap book - Awesome! In this ep we again have the Doctor f'n around with his program. This the 3rd time that the writers have used this little chestnut and it is already overdone. The first two times ended badly and he was told by Torres after the first time not to make any changes without her approval/review. So of course now he does not learn his lesson and screws around again. It is no wonder the crew does not treat him as an equal as he fails to follow orders and puts them in danger time and again by messing with his program. Torres does use that particular epitaph several times in the past and it is mentioned that she says it another few times. It has nothing to do with "Barge of the Dead". The look of disgust on Tom's face after Janeway puts the Docs hand on her tushy is priceless. My missing scene is a montage of the Doctor going around the ship and helping/fixing everyone's problems after his program additions go haywire. Starts in sickbay and helps Tom treat a patient, pops to Chakotay's office and helps him fix a duty roster problem, pops into Astrometrics and helps Seven plot a faster route to Earth, helps Torres adjust the warp matrix, helps Nelix cook a better meal and finally helps Tuvok align the phasers. Why did they abandon the assault on Voyager when they already knew about the "photonic cannon" and included that in their analysis?

Eric Bennett

Such a great episode and love what Bob Picardo had to say. The part about him not smiling in the early seasons makes a lot of sense. I've often thought, and said, that the EMH had the most growth on the show over the seven seasons. Where he started versus where he ended up was quite the arc.

Eric Bennett

Garrett's list of Star Trek shows is about the same as mine. Anyone who hasn't given Lower Decks a chance is really missing out. Picard is easily my least favorite. Discovery behind that. Lower Decks Strange New Worlds Prodigy Discovery Picard Picard season 3 might change all that though. We shall see.
