Ben & Matt of the JUSTICE WARRIORS comic series join us this week. It’s hard to overstate just how racist that Vance clip is. Most racism involves a racist lens: a person sees some actual event and interprets it in a racist manner. E.g., poor black people are poor because they are stupid. This lens is usually a product of culture. What Vance is explicitly doing is starting from a convinced, inner, non-rational, pure racism and trying to shape the real world events around that. Blood libel is really the accurate comparison here.
