I’ve listened to “the hills have cries” chapo review of dogshit Netflix Vance hillbill elegance featuring Tom and Tarence of the trillbill workers party a dozen times, one of my all time favorite episodes. Also Tarence wrote the most comprehensive and well researched history of the opiate epidemic Ive ever read for the baffler many years ago that went into the way prisons were built expressly for opiate abusers and police tactics were changed to fill jails with poor pill fiends, basically shining a light on how wrong and simplistic a narrative “pharma were the main bad guys” was that diverted attention from the entire operation being state sponsored addiction followed by jail or drug court ($$$). Misery profiteering at every level private and public, thanks Tarence. Always stoked to hear these guys on the show.

I have been a defense contractor since 2011, and Warfighter is the term used to remind those of us who are NOT out there pulling triggers who we support. The word Soldier encompasses many types of jobs in the army. There are Soldier cooks, Soldier lawyers, Soldier intelligence analysts, etc...but a Warfighter is meant as a separate tier of the armed forces. It's a dumb guy way to talk.

Nah so Medal of Honor like rebranded itself to become a modern military game, and they released a first game just called “Medal of Honor” which I remember liking as a kid (who grew up post 9/11 + War on Terror), and then they released a sequel called “Medal of Honor: Warfighter” which had a multiplayer where you had different “Operators” with different abilities and stuff. It was kind of the first FPS game I remember having like specific “heroes” with unique abilities. Both games were, in hindsight, pretty awful but Warfighter’s multiplayer was fun to play wigh friends

I forget where the concept comes from but I remember a bit of theory that said under fascism society is comprised of the in group that law protects but does not bind and the out group the law binds but does not protect. You can absolutely see that with regards to Jewish students needing to feel safe at all times while anyone with an off white skin tone is subject to deportation for even mild criticism.
