Back in ancient China emergency military summons were communicated via a network of beacons that would be lit at night to signal an invasion, and all the emperor's vassals were expected to muster their armies and gather at the capital. It's important to remember that fruity people have done some heinous shit and the softest weak people can be formed into the cruelest weapons when you have enough of them.
