Derek has been doing great work for all the years since Chapo first put me on to him. Much respect

NYCM&AHole

Yeah I love hearing from the acceptable/compatible left. Now I understand where Bernie’s stance on Palestine comes from

NYCM&AHole

Amy Klobuchar threw a stapler at them

With all due respect to Davidson-who is a GOAT- I call bullshit on the tendency to not take seriously the human toll of the war on terror. 20 years 4.5 million dead (what percentage civilian? And children?) 40-50 million displaced with 11 million permanent refugees. The stance that America has taken on behalf of Israel is directly out of a dog eared playbook from the early post 9/11 era. That’s what makes it so uncanny, the sense that you’ve been through this before and you can’t believe that it worked back then.

You know how when you play a turn-based PC strategy game like Civilization or one of the Total War games there's that period in the late campaign where your empire is so big and complicated that it takes an hour to finish a turn? You've got like 30+ settlements you have to click through and armies all over the map you have to move. The game isn't exactly won but there's no more big rival factions to threaten you so you just muddle through the endgame forgetting about random cities and armies and auto-resolving battles instead of playing them out. That's basically what it feels like to live in America in the 21st century. All of our presidents and politicians and business leaders are just auto-resolving everything and muddling through the campaign because they're too tired of clicking through the turns. And this war feels like the kind of messy shit that happens because the player just wants the game to end.

How would things be different if Trump was president? Our military would currently be tied down losing a war in Mexico and Israel would be forced to figure things out for itself.

Joe

Derek Davison has a laugh that warms my heart, even though when he’s talking about anything, it’s usually not pretty.

Joe

Ps - I hope that Matt is taking some time to finally play the first four MGS games with an infant nestled in his lap.

In Austria the Propaganda works better. (The pro Palestinian side is intimidated) It will have dire consequences for Jews living here, bc the pro Israeli side for the first time goes out and tells the public: Jews =Israel. And for the first time ever I saw politicians (non Jews) telling pro bds Jewish Uni guest speakers they are nazis. And no Jewish public figure stops them. Just to give you context we have around 5400 Jews in a country of 9 million. I was at a bring them back rally, it was 70percent old people who you can scare by calling them anti semites.

Honestly I think it would be better if Trump had the White House in 2025. At least the liberals would be out in the streets protesting, shitheads like Fetterman and Schumer would be blocking policies, the media would be screaming about "Democracy Dies in Darkness" instead of spreading IDF blood libel; and maybe, just maybe, Joe Biden would be thrown in prison. For all of his bluster Trump didn't go to war with Iran and didn't let Israel commit an atrocity. He's a coward, and when nations want to go to war it's better to have a coward running the United States than a Democrat afraid of "looking soft".

Sam

I think the big thing that keeps getting missed here is that israel sucking total dick at the info war is irrelevant to their ability to commit mass murder through aerial bombardment. And the only real purpose of any of this is to kill every human being in Gaza. The pro-zionist contingency in the United States that is comfortably insulated from this is losing their minds over their inability to get infinite likes on their victim posts, but israel doesn’t give a flying fuck. Within 24 hours of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine the most overwhelming combination of sanctions in modern history were levied against them. Within 72 hours the foreign reserves of the Russian state were frozen - an act of total war. Nothing even comparable has happened yet in this case. 12k confirmed dead today. The Hamas videos are cool and all but it’s not easy to square their success on the ground vs limited mechanized units against the annihilation of Gaza from the air. I think it’s a far more terrifying indicator that Israel has simply intensified the bombardment in lockstep with their total bumbling of their bullshit narratives. Until state forces in the region intervene to stop the slaughter (or a genuine miracle happens), the most likely outcome is that Gaza is annihilated. And before someone steps in with the Vietnam comp - Gaza isn’t a giant nation with forests and mountains and resources and trading partners and millions of soldiers. It won’t sustain and can’t win without intervention.

J P 3

As far as Trump's record with Israel goes, Trump's big "innovation" was to sideline Palestinians from any discussion over the resolution of the occupation through the moronic Abraham Accords (a policy that Biden has continued). During the March of Return in 2018, a non-violent protest movement started within Gaza, Israeli snipers murdered hundreds and seriously injured thousands of non-violent protesters (with Israeli settlers cheering from the hills of northern Gaza as the carnage continued). Trump's response was to do exactly nothing. That was the same exact response he had to continuing violence and the violent expulsion of Palestinians from land in the West Bank. Trump absolutely let Israel continue the carnage. Trump's unilateral withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal -- absent any clear violation by Iran -- also has made war in the region much more likely. The murder of Iranian Gen. Soleimani by Trump is almost certainly something the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp hasn't forgotten. Regardless of whether Trump wants to start a regional war or not, he might stumble into one, the same way that Biden is doing. I agree with you that Trump is a coward. However, if Trump is elected again, I could very easily see things getting much worse for a lot of people. I seriously doubt a Trump administration will be better than a Biden administration. Domestically it will be much worse (e.g. on labor issue in particular). Internationally, it will be worse in different ways. Whether Trump could get retribution against his political enemies is another question. Since Trump is a coward, I think the more likely scenario is that he just tries to make life more difficult for the left, similar to the way that he did at the end of 2020. I think it would be better if the Dems found a better nominee than Biden in 2024. If they don't, there's a good chance Trump wins.

Britz Man

This episode is reminding me of when everyone was jackin the Ukrainians off after the Russians invaded then look what happened.

William

You mean, nobody wants to work anymore?

William

I think Trump is officially the option of less harm now

William

Israel is overplaying their hand like the republicans did with the roe v wade repeal

Jaime Christley

Thinking of Gazans being told to denounce Hamas, like imagine being asked "do you denounce the 'rogue' elements in the CIA that stitched up the Kennedys" as well as "do you denounce Con Ed"

William

Prediction: mitt Romney will be the democratic candidate in 2024

William

Sorry, how many wars did trump start/endorse? Ukraine doesn’t happen with trump in office. Oh, btw, under Biden, record levels of deportation, kids still in cages, increasing brinksmanship with China, an actual threat of nuclear war… let me know when to stop

Sam

“unnamed Democrat” will always poll better than any Dem with a name.

Jaime Christley

Invading Mexico would be the dumbest way for this empire to commit suicide. Iran, too, at that. Either option would look like James Ellroy's depiction of the Bay of Pigs in AMERICAN TABLOID but on a 1000x scale. Maybe that would finally fracture the US into another civil war, because the last time we won a war without significant outside help it *was* the Civil War (and even then we had outside help).

SoldierBlue

Somebody explain “stalemate” to me

Lydia Maria Child

I would give every dollar I have to see how much blackmailing is going on, by Israel, over US politicians right now. The Epsteins, Maxwells, etc. of the world don't exist anymore, right guys? Right?

William

The US is trying to wrap up the Ukraine conflict because they need Azov in Gaza right now

will michel

i hope matt is continuing to make progress every day…the resonant space his voice would have filled during all of this horrific bullshit feels especially empty lately.

Doug Cartel

I thought hamas would get steamrolled until I saw a dead-serious tiktok where an IDF soldier paraphrases inigo Montoya while glaring into the camera Then I was like oh IDF is fucked The OPFOR is quoting scripture during battle and the BLUFOR are quoting princess bride

Tim Mullen

Derek Davison- don’t we love our sweet boy???

Don Friðrik Ólafsson

I like how the Unisemity sketch was extremely homophobic while also accusing hamas (or palestinians) of being homophobic

Doug Cartel

US media literally acting like a character from I Think You Should Leave 110%

Steve Nutt

They don't consider them real journalists. They might pat them on the head in a few years time and say well done champ. They consider them like...kids playing as being journalist at best.

Demented Avenger

I'm not gonna lie, but I've relished watching Genocide Joe eat shit constantly on the international stage. Not just in this crisis; it's really funny to watch him whimper towards a pathetic butcher like MBS.

Demented Avenger

The claims that the bombs we bought Israel aren't killing any Palestinians kind of annoys me as a taxpayer. Do our bombs not work? Using them is horrible, but then you tell me that Israel uses these but don't worry, they're not killing anyone. Why did we spend this money, then?

Dark Belden

I don’t know how much use it is to assign which mummy is less dangerous. I’m very pessimistic that either choice will result in anything other than a continuation of existing policy.

Alejandro Pepsi

Mauripol still existed when the first deal was offered. Zeldisney down bad.

Kindspacewombat

I follow the Gaza journalists on social media they are unironaccally hero's. The racist coward journalists in the West don't deserve to even be compared to them. They are on a whole other level.

Waffle Poet

Mr. Davidson has a wonderful laugh. I always appreciate a good laugh. There are many awful laughs that make me feel embarrassed for the laugher.

——

Wait they won’t send in unarmored infantry bc they’re scared of casualties, so they send in tanks only, which you said is suicide without infantry cover. Dudes not making any sense.

throatgoat

They're gonna try to force us into the voting booths with draconian bill propositions like "voicing support for Palestine will be a felony" or "liking posts that promote trans rights will get you on a list" and libs will be like DON'T YOU SEE but we're serious when we say if anyone isn't free in this world then none of us are so who the fuck am i to expect freedom here or anywhere.

C. Andrew

I would pay any amount of money to listen to a podcast with Felix and rotating guests talk about military hardware, training, and tech. I grew up near an airbase (my microplastic biome is flourishing, thank you) so maybe this is just the effects of empire talking but I've always found tanks, military aviation, and for lack of a better term the 'Metal Gear Solid' coolness that surrounds them fascinating. The intersection of tactics and tech - the IOF sending in unsupported AFVs worth 55 million dollars to get merced by AT teams with 100% sneak skill and tech from the former Soviet Union, the failures of a billion dollar anti-missile systems to rockets constructed via hand-tooled mills in a tunnel. Fucking paraglider infantry! I feel a little bad that I find it all so cool and interesting, because it's like studying a meat grinder designed to kill you, but I feel the giving a shit leaving my body as I imagine driving a M1A2 around.

2026-09-09 10:00 Does anyone remember seeing an interview with an IDF commander that had a very strong Scottish accent? I’d like to find it again. That sealed the issue for me: what the fuck is this painfully white Scottish man doing in Palestine, calling himself Israeli and leading in a genocide of the native population. It is so evil and so obvious, but in a way so buffoonish you might dismiss it. I think that’s what they’re hoping for.

After seeing telephone poles plastered with those stupid propaganda posters in our neighborhood, I had to reassure my 9 y/o, several times including once at 1am that, no, there was not a kidnapper on the loose in our city. I was not amused on many levels. But it was encouraging to see they’d been ripped down the next day and have yet to reappear.

plainwrap

Well the doctrine doesn't make sense. One of the key defenses of IDF armor is a motion sensor-activated system that shoots out explosive buckshot to stop incoming rockets. I'd assume the IDF can't have infantry around a tank that blasts itself without warning, so they're forced to send in their armor unsupported. They're not a smart army.

C. Andrew

There are two US carrier groups within strike range of Israel, and one Marine MEU in Kuwait. It would be a massive sacrifice and undertaking, but those elements alone could destroy Israeli command and control. One nuclear bomb can ruin your whole day.

Walking Bones

This shit was, is, and will always be genocide and ethnic cleansing. From the River to the Sea!

George P

jesus that's awful

Brendan Wilson

We're living through episode zero of a future season of Blowback

Andrew Mueller

From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!

William

Lol I love how you projected your own straw man to knock down. Where did I say trump was anti-imperialist? Trump is a coward who doesn’t want to lose, which is why he backs away from every scenario where that’s possible - Biden gives the power elite a rubber stamp to do whatever the fuck they want

Chris

If you count bringing down your own mom who's the only thing protecting you from the world as a hail Mary, then Israel is out there praying the rosary

fried egg

was in wash square the other day and saw a bunch of blindfolded teddy bears with those flyers attached to them which is just very vulgar especially for a public place where like ? kids go ?

Chris

It's just one of those facts that America makes irrelevant. Just like the real AIDS death toll or how the USSR died to keep us safe. People should never forget or forgive but it becomes a pick your battle type thing.

Logan

What are you talking about?

John Harwood

I am currently sitting in it, and I can confirm that this is true.

Last Years Man

Come on, Will! The Disrespectable Dozen! Give it some alliteration!

C. Ries

Israel has completely lost all forms of soft power it once enjoyed in the psyche of normie americans. That Columbia skit was a schande in the history of Jewish comedy. The I.D.F.’s reputation as a fighting force that punches well above its weight has been very tarnished. And the false possibility of a liberal, humanistic form of Zionism is no longer viable. A country stereotyped as savvy, hardy, and moral has been revealed to be pathetically corny, impotent, and thuggish.

AbeLinkin

I put up Ceasefire posters everywhere in my city next to the “abducted” posters and over half of my fliers were torn down within one day. I tried to restrain myself from tearing the other fliers down but I’ve been left no choice. I know this is an incredibly minor gesture but they’re still the only pro-ceasefire message I’ve seen in my city so far. Everything seems hopeless but we all need to stay committed.

Mark Schneider

I recommend putting your posters over theirs!! Then when the Zionist murder mob tear them down they'll be destroying their own too.

Mark Schneider

& now they've even lost MBS as an ally!! They are hapless, dumb beyond belief

Mark Schneider

When I lived in Nicaragua in 1983-84, there was a putz "journalist" who stayed in the same hospedaje I roomed in while not picking coffee. So the lady who ran it asked him on arrival, "Su pasaporte, por favor?" & he needed me to translate that!! I'm sure he was really insightful & had lots of contact with the locals, unlike those brown skinned people. (Well, not really, the local waiters in the top Managua hotel he lunched in all spoke English to him I'm sure.)

Mark Schneider

No fan of Azov, but I kind of wonder how many would volunteer to slaughter Palestinians? They might be conflicted.

Mark Schneider

He calls most of us non-Mormons "gentiles" as well, so he'll be a Natural!! & don't forget, the Mormons baptized Moses, Jesus etc. into their cult, so with JHVH ADNI on his side, what could stop him?

BryceSprungstein

Wow, looks like all that work Mossad put into the whole 'Jeffrey Epstein pedo-blackmail ring' is really paying off.

Shane McGonnell

I know this is a dumb comparison but it reminds me of the Sarduakar in the Dune books. For so long they’ve only known victory and that actually made them weak

Dang

Well you're not very smart are you? Lol Take a look at his comments on Truth Social when this went down.

Gert

I’ve been thinking the JE pedo blackmail ring was keeping whatever order we had, a cabin in the woods situation.

Gert

A trap to ferret out grey wolves who don’t already subscribe!

Antipaganda

Maaaaybe the IDF shouldn't have focussed on recruiting exclusively on Gamergate forums.

Antipaganda

More like the option of no difference. Sure, he would have pulled back a lot of US support for Ukraine, but that's no longer relevant, so foreign policy wise, probably doesn't matter who wins in 2024.

Antipaganda

Trump didn't end any wars either, because he loves the sexy generals.

Michael Turner

I really think this was good for Derek. He needed to be able to laugh for a few minutes.

Britz Man

When Russia first invaded Ukraine everyone was so amazed at Ukraine’s resistance but eventually they were ground down. That’s what I feel will happen to Hamas

T

Will is so good. Salute to Will.

BryceSprungstein

I'm not sayingI'm pro-Taliban, but it would be cool if they broke the siege of gaza by swooping in with those american helicopters

2026-09-09 10:00 So is this just the Israel/Palestine podcast now? It’s been a month and aside from the movie podcast all you guys have talked about is this war. Which is important, but I miss the goofs and making fun aspect of the show.

Talking about the schizophrenic tone, DID YALL HEAR NETANYAHUS SHRINK COMMUT SUICIDE

MG

People can scold me on the internet all they want. Biden and all the Dems who support this shit lost me forever

ComradeTerrance

please vote for Mussolini!! we can’t let hitler win!!!

Joshua Garcia

I never got an email about this. I checked spam, etc. so you know. I opened Patreon and it popped up

Sam

Sorry you’re inconvenienced. They’ve dropped multiple 3 hour movie mindset pods in the interim. But this is quite literally the most significant, history altering event you’ve ever lived through. So maybe just stfu and go watch ace Ventura until the mass slaughter is over.

Daniel Hepburn

Wow, you are such a brave hero. Love the air quotes over abducted, btw.

Daniel Hepburn

Gee, sorry you were inconvenienced by the images of people's loved ones, 22 of whom are American, being held and tortured by Hamas.

Arthur G. Pym

Jeff I’m so sorry this happened to you

Matthew Krueger

I literally haven't heard him laugh in weeks. It's good to know he still can.

Joe

Linx, pls!

Matthew Krueger

What's the over/under on when that ep drops? 5 years or 10?

Matthew Krueger

Arthur, this fucking killed me dude. Well done.

Methew

Looking into it further, it’s actually bullshit I think. Looks like it’s a rumor or from a political satire from 2010 but got revamped. The alleged psychiatrists name is Moshe yatom if u wanna look it up.

William

Fuck off daniel, stop being a cunt

William

Apparently smarter than you, who hasn’t figured out there’s usually a difference between trump posts and what he ends up actually doing

NYCM&AHole

Well Dummy Bessner blocked me from American prestige because I hurt his fee fees because he didn’t want to endanger a state dept career by saying maidan 2014 was an NED orchestrated US coup. Guess they can’t toe the line on this one though

AbeLinkin

Wow, you’re such a tough guy @Daniel Hepburn , talking shit in a comment section to someone who’s just trying to vent about their frustrations about how their country is aiding another country’s genocide. I put up quotes because I forgot what it actually said. For the record, it was “Kidnapped” not abducted, but the point remains. And not that what I did was very brave (your sarcastic words, not mine) but if I were somehow identified, would maybe result in a 50% chance of getting fired. May I ask what you do that gives you the idea that you feel “brave” enough to talk shit on a media playing app? One you presumably pay $5/mo to have access to?

AbeLinkin

Apparently Daniel is a troll of the highest order

Ryan

Did y’all see your boy Fetterman’s adidas shorts comments on Israel? What a fucking clown.

RubbishBinMan

he's their boy? they've never been too positive on him lol. wasn't it felix who coined john redditman?

THEKILLERWHALE

You are essentially describing Radio War Nerd but without Felix.

C. Ries

Comparing Trump or Biden to Mussolini or Hitler is libtarded

Nathan El

These guys shouldn’t talk about the SMO in Ukraine until they’re more familiar with it. It’s anything but a stalemate. Especially the last month.

Lord-Admiral of the Pyrenees

I don't think they like Fetterman very much at all. Felix has made many negative comments about him.

William

Dude who cares - you’re just doing the democrat “senate parliamentarian explainer” for foreign policy

Ryan

I should have added a /s at the end. Haha. Whoops.

John Swan

This is the most history altering event you’ve lived through? Damn I feel old as hell

Dylan

I love "The Pod Johns" so much

Chris

even tho trump is a total slut, he'd pass any sort of abortion ban, biden wouldn't. Any other argument is basically shit trash

Chris

its important to not let them get a federal bill passed because the do nothing dems would never be able to repeal it, even if it were mild or extreme

Chris

Ukraine is fucked and will never get it's nationalist borders back.

Chris

Just write CEASEFIRE with a magnum sharpee over all their posters, that way they have to rip their own shit down and spend more money to replace it at a low cost to you.

Chris

He's saying they're incompetent, that's the point

Chris

It's hard to see it from the ground where we are in history right now, but between Ukraine and Gaza, the United States has basically chosen to die alone. We have nothing to offer, our military and tech actually aren't that great and we bully even our closest allies and friends into doing things that hurt them. Nothing can stop our empire from falling apart now. The irony here is thick as fuck. If we had physically stopped Israel and used the army to protect Gaza, that might have bought us 50 more years.

——

They might be ruthless and bloodthirsty but I assure you they are not incompetent

Chris

Well, they called the smart, kind, left wing kids Nazis, so that sort of tracks with Austrian history. Israel allows them to express themselves correctly, even if the semantics are a bit confusing.

——

Chapo can say all kinds of things about how the f35 doesn’t work and the US would lose a traditional war with iran, but that’s nonsense. The fact is the only things that hamstrings a developed military against developing nations or groups like Hamas is geography, hubris, and their own restraint. Geography won’t be an issuehere, there’s no thousands of square miles of Hindu Kush to disappear into. Israel may have learned from their hubris already, and finally all restraint has been turned off.

AbeLinkin

What a wonderful idea, thanks @Chris!

AbeLinkin

I think you’re confusing Chapo for CNN

Chris

I think we'd all agree that the IDF is dangerous, right? But after Vietnam, the war on terror, Ukraine and now this; you sort of have to ask - is the 3rd reich war strategy a good one? Does it pay to have 70 ton tanks that die in one hit the same as a T55? Is this shit really working? Because a massive part of our identity is the assumption of technological superiority. If a homemade RPG29 is just as effective as a javelin in the right spot, I think its fair to say you wasted $150k if you picked the javelin. I don't think Hamas can "win" but its very hard to imagine a future where the USA matters to anybody, and this is a crack in the armor you can see that future through.

Chris

I'm to the left of everyone in this thread and I can say with confidence that "protesting" the dems by allowing the GOP to take the executive branch is not a good strategy for harm reduction here or overseas. Trump was firing cruise missiles for fun and rounding up BLM protestors and killing them at black sites. Biden and the dems are callous, but they're not out there curb stomping gay and black kids for the fun of it. And yeah, minorities do care about that.

Chris

Brinksmanship with China is a great counterpoint to what you're saying actually. Yeah the dems are running their same algorithm, but everyone should be reminded of the fact that Trump was going to nuke China when he lost the election and an unknown number of Govt employees supported that idea. Mark Miley actually called the Chinese to brief them and assure them he would never authorize a nuclear strike. We'll lose to the Chinese under Biden because the dem strat sucks and ignores why China is succeeding completely. Under the normal strategy, its just a matter of time before they over take us because we don't understand that helping people makes them like you.

Nico

Derek cried for our sins.

Marcos Rubios

The Minecraft replication of the dude putting a bomb on a tank and then he and his buddy shooting it with rpgs was pretty good imo

Then we should have a fun one with a classic guest for you on Thursday

Are you insane? Maybe you should follow a really decent center left talk/comedy show I've heard a lot about, The Adam Friedland Show.

Snappy Tappy Capybara

Trump is exactly what Americans deserves. At least the current unhappy liberals and conservatives will be pleased that Biden isn’t the President anymore will finally STFU.
