Manifesting Matt’s return (boy, I hate to be *that guy*, and this is definitely not the place to field my particular concern, but I use the Pocketcast app(TM) to stream podcasts that I’m not a Patreon subscriber to and something must be wrong with the podcast upload for ‘hell of presidents’ itself because I have been wanting to listen to hell of presidents for months but it doesn’t load ever and I’m so grateful you’ve taken the time to upload an episode to Patreon because I really enjoy it) and it feels like it’s working, love to you all

Thank you guys for finally uploading this! I’ve been doing my CHAPO catch up listen and was looking for this Without Stitcher, thanks guys! (Chris, I assume! Will will never be doing this, and Felix can’t even keep himself organized enough. Not to mention, Mat has enough on his plate with the new child and everything else! Thanks again Chris, your presence on Chapo is a much needed light and I didn’t think anyone could replace Brendan let alone make a presence of their own that was greater than his but you really have done it. Keep up the great work and here’s to 1000 more episodes to the Chapo expanded universe!!!!

Thanks for letting me know! Matts probably my favorite historian after maybe Caro or Perlstein, even though I only found Chapo from my love of Felix’s sense of humor I don’t think I’d be as well read as I am without Matt’s in-depth insights

The whole thing is on YouTube, the boys couldn’t distribute it (I think) because it was licensed Stitcher only. Which is would explain why it’s only coming to Patreon now.

I’m not getting these HoP episodes in my RSS feed from Patreon. I use Overcast, but even the preview feed generated by Patreon and Acast don’t show the HoP episodes. Thanks for posting these, can’t wait to listen!

This year I read the Aubrey/Maturin series (which I definitely recommend, especially if you like Peter Weir's movie adaptation!) and I was really glad I had listened to this ep of Hell of Presidents in particular for a recap of what the deal was with the war of 1812. There's a section in the seventh book where Jack and Stephen are prisoners of war in Boston that deals with domestic attitudes towards the war, particularly the fact the only thing Americans at that time hated more than the British navy was Irish people, lmao.
