The plan for Chapter 30 and what to expect in the future (Patreon)

Chapter 29.5 has officially concluded. A little shorter than the usual TGT chapter (funnily enough its actually as long as the old classic chapters) so we apologize for anyone who feels let down, but Chapter 29 as a whole has officially concluded. That leaves us with Chapter 30, which has been alluded to in previous posts as being a monster of a chapter.

Chapter 30: Tails vs Blue

And indeed, for Tails Gets Trolled's 30th Chapter, it's all about Tails. The entirety of this chapter has already been sketched out by Lazerbot, making it the first chapter post revival to be primarily drawn by him. All of these sketches will be hitting the Patreon as well for bonus content. As of this writing, other artists have pitched in helping create linework from his sketches, merging their unique styles with Lazerbot's famed fight choreography.

As for when it will release...let's not sugarcoat this. It's going to take a while. At the current moment we are one third of the way there.

I don't feel comfortable giving a release estimate at this point - particularly because we were not able to make our estimated release period for Chapter 29.5 - and because the path ahead of our team is going to be a long one...but we will be doing our best. Things may be quiet here on the Patreon as a result, as a heads up, though there will be occasional teasers and updates posted.

Since we're going to be away for what we expect to be a long time we wanted to give the fans a gift before we leave which leads into the next topic of this post.

What's going to happen in the future of Tails Gets Trolled?

Some may remember a certain fact thrown around the Discord and other communities that Lazerbot has much of the main story for Tails Gets Trolled planned out. We would like to actually share some of the plan with the fans to give people and idea of where things are headed. Please take a look at the following:

Please note that things are still subject to change, and that the order of events does not necessarily show how many chapters will be spent on each part. (ie, the section for The Defenders might take 1, 2, or 3 chapters to cover what is being teased.)

"Corruption" - Alice and friends

Some viewers may have noticed that despite being on the cover for Chapter 29.5, Alice did not appear in this chapter. One reason for this was due to reader feedback about the placing of her scenes interrupting other tense moments in the story, so we moved to give Alice her own spotlight after the series next big battle, among other reasons.

I was actually brought on by Lazerbot and Shimshomo to help rewrite this section as a whole, taking in some feedback and comments seen in different communities and passing them on to the brothers directly. The end result is this being the first Tails Gets Trolled chapter to be written with Reader Feedback in mind. (Fun fact, this is also not the first time the brothers have gotten help with writing as well - did you know the sequence with Mario in Chapter 26 where he returns to Peach's Castle was also another moment where the Production Team stepped in to help the brothers write? I thought that was interesting.)

This may raise alarms to some fans regarding Lazerbot's vision to the comic, but we want to assure you that one of the main goals in rewriting the arc was to ensure that the main themes he wanted to tell remained intact. A lot of the focus we had in particular was the pacing of the chapter. The process was quite the back and forth with myself and Shimshomo going over each and every revision in detail, with not all of our ideas making the final cut. We hope the end result is something the fans will find both interesting and enjoyable.

(There will definitely be a lot to say for the behind the scenes post for this chapter when that time comes as well.)

The Satanists

This arc will see us revisit the Satanists and see what their current plans involve. In particular, this is planned to be focused on Sinu's perspective and will go over his standing within the cult, as well as his relationship with other existing members. We also plan to go into his backstory with Mike Power, explaining what Mike's purpose in the world is and how he came to be known by the Satanists.

Here's a little extra teaser for the fans taking the time to read this post: a certain spin off series will see some surprising relevancy in this arc as well...

The Defenders

We will then move to the Defenders, who are forced to take action after the events of Chapter 28: Shadow vs Cheeto Man. This chapter in particular will show the real history of the Defenders and how the group came to be - those who are familiar with what has been stated already may know what this entails.

There are also other surprises in store for this arc of the story as well that Lazerbot and Shimshomo want to keep under wraps...

The Search

Lazerbot and Shimshomo do not want to share many details of this arc yet but it will involve the return of a certain group of characters who have not been seen in a while.

Spin off series!

Progress is expected to continue mostly with the Ultimate Alternate reality, The Adventures of Underbite Troll, and Bugs & Daffys Story. For now we are opting to complete a set number of pages and releasing them before each chapter begins as a way to lead into the release, but with the expected time for the next chapter being long, we are open to hearing suggestions to how the fans would want to see these handled. Perhaps just sporadic spin off page releases?

Reader Feedback

We have another version of the Reader Feedback form that will be opened in the coming days. As mentioned in the previous update post, instead of being a completely blank field, there will be more targeted questions since there are certain topics Lazerbot and Shimshomo want to get some feedback on. (You can still input your thoughts freely in the end.) The previous form helped a lot with gathering feedback in one place instead of searching for it across different communities, so we encourage you all to take the time to fill things out.

In conclusion...

Thanks everyone for being so patient with the series. Truthfully, during these downtimes I am personally stressed out because there is a lingering thought in the back of my head that time is being wasted and I feel horrible when people ask how things are going only to tell them "it's going", but it warms me to see the fans coming out of their "cocoon" (as Lazerbot had put it before so long ago) to celebrate the release of new chapters.
