This is your friendly reminder that Valentine's Day is on the 14th (tomorrow at the time I'm publishing this), so if you haven't gotten something for yourself or someone else, get on it. Also, the next update for TOXICity is being loaded on filesharing sites as we speak, and the release notices will be queued up shortly. There isn't a whole lot else to say about it other than that.

I've seen some interesting discussions as of late from users whose first experience with ILS Productions is TOXICity, and while waiting for a new update, they get around to play Now & Then. I find this interesting because it was always my experience that a lot of folks found us because of our first story and hung around. Sure, some dropped off because TID wasn't their thing. But it's always appreciated to see new people discover us.

Part of the messages I've seen are about the pacing and how N&T is, for the most part, a slower experience. That's largely due to a split narrative where a lot of time is spent on Jack and Carol's history pre-pandemic. With TOXICity, there's a more omnipresent threat of danger, even if it doesn't have physical form, and it's so rare to have moments that feel safe.

I want to drop a note for users to be on the lookout: In the coming month, we're going to have a vote on the direction of game #4. We have two competing plot documents that go in different directions, concept- and theme-wise, and before we get too long into script/plot development and asset creation, we want to get a feel for what players may be interested in. I'm writing up a comparison brief for both to give you a sense of what influences and narrative themes we're looking at.

Hello K., thanks for the update. I played N&T some time ago with great interest and pleasure. I don't even know where I got it from. I like your calm and sometimes very detailed narrative style, which creates the special atmosphere of your games. The interesting graphic style of the Renpy version you use also fits in with this. In ToxiCity, this oppressive atmosphere of constant latent threat is built up, which draws the player into the story. This is particularly clear with TID, which I have now finished after many exciting hours. What a bolide! And what an emotional roller coaster ride when the stories of the beloved girls come to an end and the MC has to make his decision. How often did I have to sit back and take a deep breath. A masterful story! And a wonderful ending, where I can now experience the fates of all my ladies. Thank you for that, it's worth persevering! Now I'm curious about your further plans, but for now I'm looking forward to every further update from ToxiCity. Have a nice weekend!

Looking forward to the polls for game #4. Personally, I don't have any strong preferences when it comes to stories and their genre. However, one particular aspect which I hope can be a little different in #4 is MC's personality. So far N&T, TID and TOX MCs share significant overlaps in their character. Sure, they are subtle differences here and there, but if we were to use a psychological profile like MBTI for e.g., all three probably share at least three if not all four letters. It would be cool to have a somewhat different sort of MC in the next game. Not sure how feasible it is though, cause I know some writers do find it difficult to craft out a character that is significantly different from their IRL personality.

What if it's a survival scenario in the future, in a derelict habitat ship after a disaster and try to survive in the ship looking for a habitable planet. a bit like Battlestar Galactica. It would beat the cycle of looking for a place to find cloths and a shower and would let you introduce more challenging environments and enemies. And last chapters in the planet-side? Scenes full of... just building and settling.
