It's kind of funny how I sometimes think "Hey, we're doing well here and we should be getting this build ready well ahead of time," and then I recall I haven't done something, like code in the audio yet, and that good feeling just fades. It's not like that work isn't just a few hours to do, especially once the build is playable, but the end of the development cycle has a lot of time-consuming tasks like that. I'm not saying there isn't a lot of fun to be had--I wouldn't be on game #3 if I didn't enjoy it--but that every good thing always has some tedium to get to the end.

In terms of the actual build, the primary rendering/animation is done, as is the first draft of the script, coded in and functional. It's playable, but there are some story flags and audio cues that still need to be built. Also, I need to remember to get the bonus picture for the end-of-chapter achievement.

In other news, some of you have heard me talk in passing about how absolutely garbage the internet infrastructure is where I live. Like, when we have thunderstorms, it drops out regularly. And the connection speed borders on dial-up (for those too young to know what that is, it's using a phone land line to connect to the internet, usually at speeds that would make a snail rigid with envy). I have an appointment with the internet carrier to replace the original copper lines with fiber in the next few weeks, so here's hoping that helps some. I'm not looking for light-speed, but maybe something stable would be nice.

Thanks for your patronage and interest,-Kinderfeld

My first modem as an adult was a blazing fast 56k PC card! A huge upgrade over the 28.8k & 14.4k modems of my youth.

The fiber will definitely be an upgrade

Honestly I'm fine if their is no audio, since I play these games without sound and just have youtube playing on my second monitor.

I love the audio and I appreciate your efforts to give us food for another of the senses. I still play the occasional AVN with no sound at all and I find I have to find something generic and related from YouTube to play in the background or the lack of any sound takes me out of immersion. The YouTube option is definitely Plan B for me. GL with getting better internet speeds as well!!

Started out on 110 baud and then 300 baud. Those were the bad days. Here, we had DSL over copper until they brought fibre in. But our phone line, power and fibre are all overhead

Growing up in the country and growing up in the early age of online console gaming it was fucking rough. We had early satellite internet from Comcast I believe it was horrible constant drops 24 hour game downloads. 4 hour updates it was miserable my parents had kept that same package for almost 18 years it had improved some but still was shit. I finally convinced my dad to get Starlink and it has completely changed their lives. They are getting 250 up and down now. Which to people in urban areas doesn't sound like a lot. Might as well be teleportation for them.
