TOXICity 0.22.0 update 1 (Patreon)
Content
With little in the way of a break, we've jumped back into the development of 0.22.0. Mostly trying to fit as much in before the kickoff to the NFL season, where Sundays are going to be spent watching too many consecutive hours of big dudes smashing into each other. That's not to say the whole day will go to waste, but I may be distracted, what with cooking football food and enjoying a few beers.
0.22.0 should wrap up the work in moving sex noises from the sound effect to the voice channels, for those who want to hear doors closing and gunshots, but not women enjoying the sweet, sweet lovemaking. If anything is missed or a line of code fails to close an effect, be sure to let us know either here or on the Discord.
On the matter of other projects, we do have some background work being done in the short windows where we're not completely booked up. The final release for The Interim Domain (1.0.0) will be done by the end of the year, and we'll properly announce the next game, which will be put into full development early 2027.
The thing that's slowed our usual development cycle is learning the new rendering software and the fact that the story keeps changing locations every few chapters. Before, with TID and N&T, we had settings locked down pretty early, so it was easier to bank content ahead of time. Now? We're barely setting up scenes a chapter or two out. Only now are we considering ending character models and locations.
Fun Fact (Now & Then spoilers):
While some people have pointed out the text message on Jack's phone in Now & Then, no one has ever mentioned (to me) one of the other "barely hidden" bits of visual storytelling left out in plain sight. In the flashback where Jack and Carol visit Missy, Jack picks up a framed photo off of her desk. It's Missy and Jolie (the girl from the clothing store). The nature of their relationship has always been left unanswered, but the picture hints at why Missy never left the city.
