Binti shows her true colors. She learned from the Wild Dogs that "Dad protects us from intruders". So, she went and became Dad. <3

Now you can see why Mosi feels so guilty over her death. And as you can imagine, it's not over for him just yet.

After reading the description I can't help but wonder if seeing Mosi so ready to protect her despite his fear, and the many other times he's done so, is what finally struck a chord here for Binti. She wanted a Dad, but in a small way already had that in big brother Mosi, and finds the agression she needs to survive but it manifests as a protective instinct instead of self preservation. But maybe I'm overthinking things. Either way, Binti trying to fight when there was no other way out makes me proud of her in a sad way; they could've tried to run but her lunging is probably what ultimately saved Mosi's life. My poor boy :( Excellent work as always, I'm excited for the next chapter!

Binti?? Was not expecting that O.O And oohh so Mosi got caught outside of the trunk! We get the explanation for why there were all those claw marks outside then and not just inside of the trunk (and obviously why Mosi woke up where he did).

Oh man. I’ll admit I was one of those people who criticized Binti in the past for her childishness and naivety (and yes, I realize she was just a child, but so is Mosi, and yet he had more sense), but her behavior here… really surprised me. In a good way, of course, and I’ll admit, it brought tears to my eyes. Poor Binti. As someone else said, in the end, she showed that she really did have what it took to survive on her own, and I’m sorry now, that I doubted her. Such a brave little girl. It makes her death even more heartbreaking, but at least it didn’t look like she suffered… that hard slam to the ground from Bes’ giant paw had to have been an instant death (at least, I hope it was). :(
