I know it has been over half a year since I have posted anything. I felt a little depressed and uninspired, and took a bit of an extended break from commissions. But I have still been busy, and I feel I am ready to show the current results of my work.

I have been modeling a new male muscular body because the musculature of the previous body I have been using (DAZ 3D's Genesis 8) wasn't well enough defined or morphable in the way I want. So I made this new model based on a few bodybuilder models I downloaded for free from one of the many 3d sites you can get these things from (I don't remember which, when this is finished I'll be sure to credit the one that I mostly used as reference)

I designed this so the topology would match the major muscle groups visible on the surface of the body, that way I can enhance or reduce the muscularity as needed with morphs. This model is low poly, with a high poly sculpted normal map texture to cover the fine details (This is a texture "bump" map that is applied to the surface of the model to make it look more detailed than it actually is, which vastly improves performance)

The model is rigged and fully posable but right now posing looks crappy and I need to model in a whole slew of corrective morphs to make it look good (Just assigning the body parts to the "bones" of the rig is not enough, joints like knees and elbows need additional care to make them look right when bent)Then I will finally model the head, the first one of course being a lizard!I just hope when all is finished it still looks good enough, and I'll try not to just abandon this project like so many others before. So far this is looking good, and if I can't make it look good animated I can at least make it look good when posed!
