The Story Behind “Within of Static” (Patreon)

Hey everyone,
I think many of you already know that my new series, Within of Static, is inspired by the kind of horror you feel in games like Fears to Fathom.
I've always been drawn to this more intimate, quiet kind of horror — the kind that doesn’t rely on constant action, but on atmosphere. Something subtle. Uncomfortable. Nostalgic in a strange way.
That feeling of…“Wow, this could actually happen to me.”
I’ve always enjoyed creating different things, and this time I wanted to fully commit to that style. It was a project where I had to overcome a lot of creative barriers — not just technically, but emotionally as well.
For a long time, I was unsure whether I should continue with a second season of Tales Beyond The Tomb…
Then I received an email from Riley Adams.
She shared a story — something that happened to her. And the way she described her life afterward stuck with me. She said it felt like there was static in her life. A constant noise. Like an old TV that never fully turns off. Like an open wound that never truly heals.
That’s when the idea became clear.
To continue doing episodic horror… but in a more personal way.
Within of Static is about anonymous survivors. Ordinary people. Stories that could belong to anyone. Maybe you’ve experienced something unsettling — something that left a mark on you.
Your story could be immortalized in the series.
If you feel comfortable sharing it, I’d love to read it:within_of_static@616games.com
