Sam adds things on to names he is unsure of. He just pluralized Chris Mullin. Everyone knows it happens constantly and my theory is he panics when he questions at all if the name is correct then almost uncontrollably throws an s or Stein on the end of Chris Mullin, he then gets the ding he subconsciously expected, freaks out and the cycle continues
