Let's have an honest talk

So, let's have a little talk. I've been slow again, which is of course related to the holidays but also to the fact that I'm just not really having much fun anymore with MAiH2. The way I forced myself to finish the business with all its boring calculations and shit has just taken all the joy out of it for me, and I am now officially announcing a new gameplan for 2025.

It's chaos. That's the gameplan. Well, not exactly, but a little more chaos. The reason MAiH1 was fun for both me and the player was that it was less structured. I'm not a game developer. I am just a horny dude making stuff up for fun. I want to have fun again, even if it is at the expense of some streamlining. So the idea is to remove some structure and add in some "whatever I feel like that day" again.

There's always a payoff. I am quite pleased with the basic structure of the game now, but it was a dull and long process to get there. Now I want to focus on the good stuff. This means I'm ditching the business for a bit (sorry, p*rn will have to wait a little longer because it's a big one) and will be diving into the new social dynamics. They are fun and exciting. Along the way, I'll be randomly adding small businesses, new locations, new scenes and more story. Just whatever I feel like.

I think this is going to be better for everyone. Sure, it might lead to some more dead ends, but I promise to keep it in check compared to MAiH1. I just really really want to have fun again and not dread to work on the game I once loved so much.

So yeah, I finished up the basic show mechanics today. It was incredibly dull. But the business is now functional and can make money and it's time to leave it alone for a bit and start working on the fun stuff again. Love, sex, drugs, fun, parties, pregnancies, shopping, small businesses with fun owners, the sex club.

I'm excited and I hope to share some of that excitement soon.

A personal message, feel free to skip

Look man, I know most of you are sick of me. I see the unsubs and I read the messages. I totally get it and I do feel bad about it all. Just know that I'm truly truly trying to be better.

Last year I got diagnosed with a personality disorder called AVPD (avoidant personality disorder) that has been wrecking a big part of my life for a long time. For years I've been working on the struggles this disorder causes me, but the diagnosis kickstarted a long and tiring process of therapy. I've made a beautiful transformation in terms of confidence and social skills, but I've been drained all year because of two types of therapy on top of work, developing the game and keeping up my social life and other hobbies.

Now I'm doing a lot better and we're nearing the end of therapy. By may, I should be done and good to go at it alone. I'll have a lot more mental energy left this year and a lot more time. I feel good about myself finally and I hope to use some of that positivity to start shaping MAiH2 into what I know it can be.

I just want to say once again how thankful I am to the crazy people that are still here supporting me every single month. I fucking love you all. You have no idea how much your support and money has helped me over these past years. Thanks. One day this game will be done and we can all be proud of what was achieved.
