JUNE 2024 - Monthly Community Update (Patreon)

HEY EVERYBODY It is JUNE and MAN what a month it's gonna be!
First of all, HAPPY PRIDE MONTH to all my LGBT+ Patrons! :D Hope you'll be having a good one!

Last month I finished my little Bella Sara-inspired card set and now I am uh. A bit stunned how and when and where I'm actually gonna print them - I tHINK I'll have to print them on my own at home but I first gotta figure out which carton I need, which printing settings and how to print them accurately on both sides - printing settings...mY WORST NIGHTMARE...

But I mean - what mainly counts is that I finished this set to begin with! :D I'm SO PROUD of it and I'm sure I'll figure out how to print it someday! OH, I'll still need to design a backside and a logo I just noticed-

As always you'll get new updates on the progress of the next comic update and I really hope I get to finish a new update this month! I wanted to get new comics done quicker, but it's always a balancing act between comics, commissions, art and video projects as well. PLUS, you know, regular life stuff!

Because besides of regular commission work and me hoping to finish the next comic, there's gonna be a lot of birthdays coming up this month from friends and family (plus my own next month on the first of July) - my mom really wants to spend a week in Denmark as a birthday gift, but we're not sure yet if we'll actually go. It all depends on how well her exhibition will go THIS SUNDAY, so send her all your good vibes that plenty of her paintings are gonna get sold!! :D

Should we ACTUALLY go on that last minute vacation, I'll let you all know of course! Despite unwinding in the Dunes I'll probably use the occasion to write some more again, continue work on the translation of my guide book perhaps. I always find myself far more motivated and inspired to write when I'm in a different place, surrounded by nature!

HOWEVER, while I'd absolutely LOVE to go on a real vacation for a few days again, there's oNE THING that is a bit unfortunate timing:
Pokemon will be releasing the new Pokemon Fit / "Sitting Cuties" of ALL Gen 6 Pokemon on June 14th which FIRST OF ALL: DUSK PLUSHY REAL and SECOND they always sell out RIDICULOUSLY FAST, so I'd have to order them the moment they come out

But if we'll actually go on a vacation this month, I don't think I can allow myself to buy much of the Pokemon merch I wanted in good conscience, as the Commissions for June will absolutely not cover the amount I'd need for both the vacation, other birthday presents for friends AND Pokemon plushies for myself and I am ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED at the thought, because LOOK!!! AEGISLASH!!! DUSK IS FINALLY GETTING A PLUSHIE!!! I NEED IT (image by @JoeMerrick on twitter)

I HAVE considered taking quick Kof-i sketch commissions to cover the costs, but the last time I did that I completely ruined my hand and with my current ongoing commissions I don't want to risk that happening again 😂

So I uh. I talked with my friend Sparx about it and he encouraged me to make an open wishlist on Throne ;w; One of my Patrons, Jezz, had proposed this website to me before, but I never actually used it before because I always felt too shy to share it

But since my birthday is coming up soon and the merch would actually ARRIVE on my birthday if I order it in mid-June - I decided it's a good idea and now I officially made a
wish-list on Throne! https://throne.com/elbdot/collections/elbdots-birthday-wishlist

NOBODY is required to get me anything, anybody who wants to gift me something can take a look and just getting a few of the plushies I want would already mean THE WORLD to me ;w;

So YES UH, my birthday will be on a Monday this year, but luckily one of my friends has time to meet up and we'll probably do something fun in the city for the day 😄 If I'm not too exhausted afterwards, maybe I'll do a stream in the evening too :D

Speaking of streams, I recently bought a Micro SD Card for my Switch (Can you believe I DIDN'T HAVE ONE YET??), so now I should be able to play Pokemon Unite, since my Patrons have requested I play a round with them on stream one day :D If time allows it, I might do a test stream on our Discord server this month!

Now, there's ONE last point you'll probably be surprised to see me talk about in this update, but this Sunday, June 9th, will be elections for the European Parliament and I know that many people do not know who to vote for. But I think I found something that's gonna help everyone who's still unsure!

If you happen to be part of the EU, I found THIS handy website where you can find a vote-matcher for each country to help you choose a party to vote for!
https://www.votematch.eu/

It's a VERY handy tool, where you get asked on your opinion on certain political topics and the matchmaker shows you which parties agree with you the most. A convenient, transparent tool where parties can easily be compared with one another!

Usually I try to avoid talking about the current state of the world in my community updates, but we ARE living in wild times where unfortunately a lot of far-right parties are on the rise again. Especially in Germany it's gotten really bad, so I urge you to GO VOTE this Sunday and find a party with the mentioned matchmaker that stands up for your human rights, for social equality, peace and for nature conservation! We deserve to live on a healthy and peaceful planet!

I don't want to start a political debate on which German parties to vote for (tho I hope we all know who NOT to vote for), but I felt obligated to use my platform to encourage people to use their voice and I really hope the link above is gonna help you guys find a party that fits your stands and interests!

With that being said, as always, thank you SO MUCH to ALL of you for your contineous support on Patreon and thank you four reading through! 🥰💖💕🧡💛💚💙

I'm looking forward to share new art and content with you guys this month!

Best wishes,
~Eleanor ☺️💖
