HELLO EVERYONE I've been sitting on the Lighting on this comic for a bit, but at least I've boiled it down to two options - I'd greatly appreciate the feedback!

I am trying to avoid tOO moody / atmospheric lighting as it's gonna be a comedic strip and the lighting should not be a distraction from that, but I also don't want the scene to look completely FLAT so I'm trying to hit a nice middle-ground.

El, Hau and Guz will be watching TV mid-day, so that's why the shadows won't be as harsh as if you'd watch TV in the evening and be more illumated by the light. The cold light at the bottom is supposed to come off from the TV that's out of frame, we're basically starring at the three DIRECTLY from the TVs perspective lmao

Which version would you go for? First slide or second! Please let me know in the comments!

Cynthia

I like number two!

Random Jam

Personally think the second is better, the first one I couldn't tell there was any TV light, so the second just feels better by comparison. Hope you're having a good day El!

Jessie Bear

First slide feels more like a TV glow to me!

CakeTin

One on the right seems berrer to me personally.

animetriplicate

I like the second. The first is fine, but side by side the first one feels very warm and that to me doesn’t say “modern TV”. The second one fits better to me

Sasha

I'd say the left one. The one on the right feels a bit much.

Nerkie

Left one, the first pic

Ruby

Depends on what their watching I like the second one since it feels like it's a cute re-run of a Pokemon show or even a cheesy pokemon cafe ad lolol

Sarah Thenshi

I think the second one (right) is better if what they are watching is like a Pokémon battle or something that has a lot of color (especially Galar with the purple/blue stadium for the finals). But the first one is good if it’s like an ad break that we shouldn’t try to focus on.

Lex

The first one is my pick. I feel like the second option is a bit distracting, personally., and I think the color cast by the TV wouldn't be as strong at midday.

Alexzandrea Greene

I think the second one works better tbh, it just feels more "real"

Electroblue02

First panel. If it's midday I feel like the sunlight coming in the windows would wash out any color the light from the TV would throw. Colored lighting from TVs typically show/contrast better in dark rooms.
