✨✨ I know this has nothing to do with the episode, but I just wanted to be prepared ahead of time! With Buffy season 7 and Angel season 4, is there anything I need to know about watch order? I prefer broadcast/alternating so I will be sticking to that if I can, but just wanted to check in which episode I watch first, if anything is messed up with the order, etc. THANK YOU!!

(I know I'm still a ways off the end of S6, but I like to be prepared 🤣)

This feels like a bit of a calmer episode, scattered in between the deep and dark episodes of late! A few laughs is very much welcome - though I am questioning my own sanity at how I can find some of the aspects in this episode "calm". I guess that's just Buffy for you 🤣

Xander had one of his best lines ever in this one (cat). I watched it several times when editing. He really is a silly one sometimes, but he makes me laugh!

I hope you all have a nice weekend 💜

There will be things that should be watched in a certain order for it to make chronological sense but I wouldn't want to say more so as not to spoil anything. It's not a large amount of things. I think the general consensus is to finish season 4 of Angel before you get into the endgame of Buffy. Then of course there's no need to worry about Angel season 5 as Buffy will be over then.

Just alternate them. Don't change a thing. These are two completely different shows on two completely different networks and most of us were watching Buffy and not watching Angel. For Buffy fans we look forward every week to your Buffy Friday and it would be very disappointing to log on and see an Angel episode being posted instead.

SweetSummit

I would have to disagree that "most" people were not watching Angel, and it's unfair to say it would be disappointing to see an Angel episode instead of a Buffy. You said they're two completely different shows, and Juliette is enjoying them both. If there's a legitimate lore reason to watch episode A before episode B she should be allowed that choice without being made to feel guilty about it.

We had one of the best Buffy episodes some weeks back with Once More With Feeling, and now in Doublemeat Palace we have one of the worst. Oh well, can't win then all. I'll watch this tomorrow when I'm not so tired as, even though I'm not a fan, I of course want to see what you made of it. Thanks for the video Juliette and have yourself a great weekend!

Thank you, Darrell! I know Buffy is usually out on the Friday (Saturday for me!) but even if we do have to mix up the days again, I hope it's not that big of a deal that people would be very disappointed as it's only a few days difference. And even so, I'd try to get it back to being Buffy Saturday and Angel Tuesday ASAP like last time 😊

Isaiah

As Summit said, should finish Angel S4 before the endgame of S7 but that’s about it.

xjuliettex

Thank you, Abi! If it's not a large amount of things, then I should be okay to keep alternating. I'll have to check out the broadcast dates. I wish it wasn't so confusing!

xjuliettex

One of the worst? 🤣 Neil! How can you say no to those burgers! They're better than the ones I made in Fast Food Simulator, after all! Sleep well, Neil 💜

fryke

they're not completely separate shows, they occupy the same 'verse, and at some points, which ep comes first is important for people who're watching both shows, which Juliette obviously is. It's rather selfish to think "but I don't care about the other one, so I want it my way" imo.

Neil Hanson

Your comment reads as 'do what I prefer because I don't like Angel', and that's not fair on either Juliette or us folk who are fans of both Buffy AND Angel. If there's a reason to watch episodes in a certain order Juliette shouldn't be made to feel guilty for switching things up.

SweetSummit

You're welcome Juliette. Do things as you want to do them. Broadcast dates are usually a good indicator! And you'll always have some good people in your community to ask for help if you need it.

xjuliettex

Thank you 🥰🥰 I appreciate you so much!! I hope you have a lovely weekend 💜

SweetSummit

You too. It's actually my birthday on Monday so I'm hoping my weekend (working) goes quickly!

Britney

I actually love this episode. I appreciate the weirdness of it.

SweetSummit

@Britney as someone who has worked in the food industry for 15 years I can appreciate a lot of this episode. Nothing here is out of the ordinary besides the woman with the demon in her head.

xjuliettex

It's your birthday on Monday? That is SO AWESOME, fellow Libra! Have the most wonderful of days and a very Happy Birthday ✨

SweetSummit

I knew we were kindred spirits. :P Thanks Juliette.

Re: Buffy/Angel watch order. I suggest watching in the order that the episodes were broadcasted, but note that this will not match the alternating order, so there would be times where you would watch the same show multiple times before switching to the other. I think this episode is very underrated. Sure it's not spectacular, but it hits the nail on the head with capturing the feeling of subsisting on a job you don't want to work. It might even be my favorite of the comedy episodes because of how well the cinematography and editing complement the humor.

Alan Kobb

The term (and episode) is "Tabula Rasa", which means "blank slate". Tabula Rosa means "red slate". :-)

David Schmidt

Wonderful, you have now met the most weirdly designed demon in the Buffyverse, the Phallus Monster. What were they thinking? I have always wondered what Pat Brown, the little old lady actress, was thinking about her role. She had always played kindly, gentle roles before. Of course, they also had the homage to the iconic scene in the movie Soylent Green when Charlton Heston freaks out and goes around shouting 'Soylent green is people.' In the movie, though, he was right, unlike Buffy during her freak out.

Michael Short

after being busy for a couple of weeks and not having much time for watching reactions i'm finally caught up again with you and buffy :D

Britney

I've never worked in the food industry, but I work an office type job that I've been at for the past 17 years. A lot of this episode is still very relatable. Just replace the food centric items with computers and other office supplies. lol

Britney

This is one of those episodes that is quite divisive amongst fans. You have those who consider this one of the worst episodes, and those (like myself) who quite enjoy it. I really enjoy the directing and score music in this one. It makes it all the more weird and creepy. If you noticed the logo/signs of the Doublemeat Palace during the episode, it has the acronym of DMP. Funny enough, the company I work for has the same acronym. I've often thought about buying a DMP/Doublemeat Palace shirt (I found one on Amazon) and wearing it to work, but I'm not sure if that would get me weird looks or not.
