Suno AI, unlike Udio, lacks an inpainting feature. Users can't selectively edit short sections of the song they're working on. They can't, for instance, correct mispronounced words or odd choices made by the AI. The only option available is to "extend" the song from just before the error. You have to roll the dice again, and the AI continues the track using the retained section as a guide. Previous iterations beyond the extension point are lost.

This is a problem. Sometimes a song with redeeming features begins badly. At the moment there's no way to fix this. No way to keep just the good parts and regenerate the bad, unless the less than satisfactory sections are at the end of the track. I'd like to redo the first thirty seconds of "Priorities" and rewrite the verses so they scan better, but then I'd be depriving the world of this specific version of the refrain "Believe me, we're all dead", and I don't think I could bring myself to do that.
