i forgot riley’s gay storyline starts this early into his introduction. fun fact they were going to make peter be bi and reciprocate it but ended up not going with that storyline. i feel like that would have been an interesting storyline to see but i still like the character growth supporting in silence and not outing him (besides to mia but that’s different in a way) route they went with too. also, i totally agree with you. i feel like one thing degrassi has always done well is even though there might be characters and relationships that have similar storylines to past seasons the take on it is always fresh and different.

that one was unfortunately never confirmed but the actors of marco and craig talked about how they wanted craig and marco to happen. i think craig terrified enough of the women in canada he’s the best example of the “maybe a man hurts everyone women in his life bc his true soulmate is a man” meme LMAO there is another character i obviously wont name to due to spoilers that they were gonna make bi but didn’t end up doing it

I feel like Season 8 is when we get to top tier Degrassi. Also the acting is better.

Jake Epstein (Craig) said that in the audition process he read for a scene that was essentially a love interest scene between him and Marco, so it’s kind of confirmed that there was some interest in writing him as bi? Or at least something akin to Paige’s storyline with Alex?

I love little Clare and Alli adventures so much. They remind me of S1/S2 storylines but a bit more mature because they’re in 9th grade and not junior high like the OGs started off in

one thing about Degrassi is that they LOVE a fresh new cast. the writing & promotion for seasons 10-12 speaks volumes on it

i do love these newer seasons and the new characters. degrassi did start to just get kind of bland the past few seasons with only some storylines being good and the rest just kind of eh. claire and her development i love and i mean ppl have complicated feelings about claire but i do think she is one of the most important characters for this show and in all her good and bad she never fails to be entertaining. i love riley’s storyline and this is surely not the end of the gay storylines and none of them feel like each other which is great and i don’t feel like any of this is a spoiler. we know degrassi characters have so many flaws to all of them. there’s a character coming in season 10 who in a way is similar to another character but is definitely not a repeat. they are one of the best actors this series had probably top 2 and honestly even tho it’s so similar to another it did feel new. as somebody said the promo for the later seasons was amazing. shark in the water is absolutely iconic and led up to one of the best seasons of this show and i really don’t think your going to get too bored of this show. the seasons start to be 40 episodes long but honestly they managed it really well and it gave the characters more time to have properly developed story’s. anyways like u said none of it feels repeated and i do love it. i think they did need to get rid of old characters and while we know they’re not completely gone it’s good to have this many new ppl and new personalities and the new generation. seasons 5-7 did start to get a bit rough there for me.

character introduced in s10 and he’s on the football team. he has a brother introduced in the same season and he actually does interact with riley at some point

tbh even though the show starts getting 40 ep seasons it’ll honestly go by quick bc most of them will just be 2 parters. so tbh it’s like 40 something minute episodes. like s10 has 44 episodes but they’re all 2 parter continuations of whatever part 1 was about so it’s actually a 22 episode season
