Still love all the movies till this day. Never noticed any issues with the acting from the actor that plays Dave…but that’s just me.

Tony Hoffman

I only cared for this movie because I watched it a few times growing up. Kind of a soft spot. Otherwise I think it’s lowkey kinda trash. Jason Lee wasn’t good in this, honestly if you wanna see him play a better character, just watch the show “My Name is Earl”. Everytime he yells Alvin’s name, it’s very weak and incredibly forced. David Cross as Ian is probably the best part of the movie, he had fun in the role and you can tell. He was very well casted as a money hungry, high ego millionaire. And you’re absolutely right about the plot, it’s very basic and doesn’t add anything new or original. When your antagonist is more likable than the protagonist, that’s never good unless the protagonist has a major redemption arc at the end, but that didn’t happen here. Overall I’d give this movie a 5/10, very average and kinda boring, but works just enough to entertain children
