On the topic of adoption: Studies have shown that kids who are adopted young and are told from a young age (from birth to 2/3 years old) so that it's never a secret adjust much better than those that have it treated like a dirty secret. the best way is to have those kid/toddler books about being adopted as a part of your normal reading routine and consuming adoption friendly media. that said, those adopted super young do have a harder time with identity than those adopted at say the age of 5 or older. But that has more to do with knowing who your birth parents were and such vs never even having a photo. I will say I can see how having one adopted kid and one bio kid (instead of only adopted kids) would make parents more likely to want to keep it close to their chest. On the topic of Adam's Chest: Adam's mom was right. he's still growing. while i think it's allowed in some places at the age of 16 or 17 the majority of doctors do not approve sex change related surgery for minors because of the risks with continued body changes. taking hormones is common in accepting households in the teen years only if both parents agree on paper and there has been extensive time with a psychologist to confirm that the kid is actually trans and not going through something else instead. Blockers for pausing puberty though are more common (or were...with all the law changes going on) to give kids and parents more time to really think about it and the full scope of issues social and otherwise that could come with it while also not causing more mental harm to kids dealing with the dysphoria. on the topic of binding with ace bandages: thankfully the show eventually finally gave Adam a binder in this episode. when I came back to degrassi and first watched this era a few years after it aired I was so worried young trans kids would see him binding with ace bandages and decide that was the way. it's not. it's actually really unsafe to bind like that with bandages. binders are specially made to safely bind and the reputable ones have instructions on the max amount of time to leave them on for. it's shocking he had a counselor the whole time who didn't tell him about it until then. on the topic of Imogen: yea Imogen was crazy in this time period. so glad she mellows out later and has some good storylines.

- trust katie is not boring 😂😂 - eli makes clare seem so deep and shes not that deep - you would think with all the things that happen so publicly at degrassi, that everyone would know that adam is trans - imogen so damn crazy 😂 - the way holly j used to rep being heather sinclair's sister down just for them to turn around and say shes adopted was wild - imogen's audition was not good - your heather sinclair storyline theory would've been good but that age gap would've been absolutely atrocious, i fear she would've been younger than spike when spike had emma - adam always does that like he needs constant reassurance, he can't ever just let things flow naturally. and they would make marisol of all people say that, degrassi black girl down once again 🤦🏽‍♀️ - i get not telling them early but no matter the age, the reaction could always vary - i respect eli for rejecting imogen respectfully, but i dont know why he's acting like he wasn't entertaining and kissing her episodes prior - adam gets a pass on alot of stuff but im not gonna even get into that - i get that fiona was there for moral support but i dont think that she should have been the one driving the conversation. - "we both know that's not true." baby why did she just eat you up like that 🫢 - 20k for a kidney to give to a child you had and gave up, just feels so wrong
