genuinely fuck bear. i dont feel any sympathy for him. his obsession ruined her life and stole her autonomy. i’ve never felt such devastating empathy for a horror character before. nikki was being r*ped and held hostage by someone she considered to be like a brother, he knew for a long time that the wish was the reason and chose to keep her hostage like nothing was wrong. only when she started to get too out of control for him did he regret it. he had no remorse for her suffering. even at the end he couldn’t respect her one wish for him to kill her and instead took himself out, leaving the mess and trauma behind for her to deal with. the director confirmed she 100% would’ve went to prison for three murders and spent her life behind bars

also the hospital scene is because she’s an adult they cannot take her if she refuses to be treated. it doesn’t matter if she’s physically injured or not, if she refuses to go they can’t take her. bear was begging them to take her anyway and they were saying no because wish nikki didn’t want to go

Watched in theater and remembered my friend saying he lowkey felt bad for bear like excuse me😭 he had plenty of opportunities to show he cared ab Nikki but he didn’t! He ruined her for his own selfishness. He just wanted her to love him and to have access to her body only to end up almost cheating on her and couldn’t even go through with killing himself to free her? Only reason he tried in the end was because it became a complication and his friends were dead.. But loveeee this movie!!

Yes I agree with all of this. This isy favorite film, it passed the shining which was my favorite film for years and the themes in this film are no joke SA, rape, controlling the autonomy of a women while taking it away. I know so many women whom have gone through this take out the wish. I hate him probably more then any character I've seen on screen. Being that it's my favorite film I've watched many MANY reactions of this since I'm an avid creator subscriber and I had to unsubscribe to some due to there siding with Bear as if Nikki did anything to deserve any of this except exist. I can't stand the whole possed by a demon, it's not a demon god dam it, it's her and warped version of her. I've not watched this reaction yet so I hope I'm not disappointed.

Fun reaction to my now all time favorite film. I disadree that he didn't know, he knew. He even looked at the wish box when he was sitting in the car while she was confused and it's not a demon. However I'm so glad you immediately clocked him after the restaurant scene soooo you passed lol I don't take the themes in the film lightly and Ive u unsubscribed to people on here so yeah! Great job your definitely on my top reactions, your funny as hell. Also I liked your idea of them both having the wish in them and just being like that, or her killing herself, I actually wanted her to kill herself when I first saw it because there's nothing I fear more then being locked up in danger for life....aside from death that's a huge fear.
