The reason she doesnt trust him is because he smells like the witch, and the twins hate anything to do with witch. So they were always low key watching him waiting for him to do something suspicious. Like on the night when he was sick and walking the hallways at night rem killed him because she thought he was snooping around. And the reason she killed him here is because he told everyone he was leaving but he stayed on the cliff to watch the mansion and when she found him she tried to kill him then and there.
