I haven't even watched the reaction yet but I'm so excited. One of my favorite shows!

Mark Wood

Sweet Mother of God. I love whoever picked this. Now I just have to pony up and pick the expanse and I’ll be in heaven

Mark Wood

Question when you pay for the pilot tier how do we let you know what show?

Lostmyshoe22

I loved the original TV series and I loved the reboot even more. So happy you are doing the pilot and hope it gets picked up. Also, Caprica was a prequel to Battlestar Galactica.

NWar086

its really strange this is one of the very few istances of a remake blowing the original out of the water. . that almost never happens

NWar086

still to my mind one of the top 3 mayb, shows scifi shows of all time

NWar086

no problems on the multi part for this. . .this was oringally aired if i rmember correctly as a 3 or 4 part miniseries that also acted as a backdoor pilot for the main series

NWar086

and yes there was also a show named caprica aftert this. . as a prequel series

Too clear up a bit of confusion: Commander Adama was about to retire from military service for which he has served many years. The Galactica was built during the first Cylon war 40 years ago and was about to be decommissioned from active service and become a museum. That's why it doesn't have much ammunition and not many fighters anymore and the starboard hangar bay is already a gift shop. The show made it a point not to be a continuation of the 1978 show but also pay homage to it. What you see in the museum area are the 1978 Cylons and their Basestars (Humans have Battlestars, Cylons have Basestars). Also during the fly-by ceremony you can hear the original show's theme music. Easter egg: When you go to the scene where Roslin is informed of her cancer and you look up the glass windows, you can see an actual Firefly-class ship in the sky. ;-)

PS: Caprica is the name of one of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. Twelve planets which are conveniently named after our 12 horoscope signs. ;-) Caprica City is (most likely) the capital of Caprica. There is a show called Caprica which centers around Cmdr. Adama's father, pre-First-Cylon war. And as for the names: Starbuck, Apollo and Boomer are all their pilot call signs, just like US fighter pilots have them (Maverick and Iceman anyone?). In the original 1978 show those were their actual character names but they changed that for realism.

Um... a BSG reaction? Finally? Yes please. This sort of behaviour must be encouraged. Shut up and take my money. Upgraded to $10 tier for this. If this becomes a regular show, I will no doubt remain at said $10 tier. I implore others to do likewise. This show warrants as much. Your move, GON.

Growing up both my brothers were huge trekkies as well as Star Wars fans, but those franchises just never clicked with me. Space set shows/movies in general weren’t my cup of tea. I’m not even sure why I tried BSG, it was so long ago, but I did and I am so glad. By the end of the opening mini-series I was hooked. It’s hard to narrow down a top 10 list of shows when you have so many you like. But BSG is easily in my top 10. So thrilled to see this on your list!

To answer your question from about 20 min mark: Caprica was indeed a TV show, it was a prequel to this show. Lasted 2 seasons.

Also, she killed the baby out of mercy, so that it would die quickly and peacefully rather than in nuclear armageddon. Or at least, that's one theory... God, this show is so, so good.

I LOVE this fucking show, it's so good but I really hope you don't get spoiled by anything. There's very few shows that have that special touch to them like Breaking Bad where you don't want to taint your experience by reading something you shouldn't have.

J.D.

So... part 2/3 on their way?

Ah, I figured you'd recorded it all and split into 3 parts. That makes sense. It's long. Hope by the end you're hooked and can't help but continue with the show itself.

I love this show, too. If I rewatch it with you (if I can afford it, etc), it would be my 4th time. It made the New York Times’ list of the Top 25 Best TV Shows since The Sopranos, which made me happy. I love it when genre shows get the recognition they deserve. Happy you’re doing this!

Trey Moore

Great show! Fun reaction! I’d love to see you do the whole series!

Chaos T

I'm not gonna lie. If I were to die and it's a 100% certainty, smacking lips with 6 might be the best way to go out.

Chuck Bass

So happy this is available again
