The first episode was rough for me. I almost dropped the show because of it. But the mystery and the story gets deeper and a lot more interesting. I’m hooked now.

Yeah the next few episodes start building the overarching storyline. Malcolm is such an interesting character because he’s obviously messed up because of his father. You could see that in the scene where he chops the hand off and is willing to die. And yes, that was lane from Gilmore girls. Another things you touched on was him being fired from the fbi even though he’s a great profiler. They mentioned it was due to him being unstable because of Ptsd and narcissism. He obviously also deals with night terrors.

The dad is played by the same actor who used to be Lucien in Underworld and Aziraphale in Good Omens. :-)
