I'm going to watch this video as soon as I get back from the Wiz Palace

I think you're liking this season, in part because of the through line and character growth. There's a central plot, and as you pointed out, April is growing up a little and starting to be secretly nice. I think she's learning to care from Leslie and how to hide that fact from Ron who also cares but doesn't like to admit it. And we're seeing a lot of good little subplots with Chris being unhappy and less confident than he always has been (and still being funny, which is impressive) and Tom and Ann having their silly attempt at dating. He's been a bit humbled since the fall of E720 and Ann is learning to see a bit beneath his swagger and April and Ron's facades. This episode really showed us how much Leslie has grown since back in season 2 and we've even seen more sides of Ben where he can be smart and confident with Leslie and the campaign, but also be a nerd who can get depressed and be afraid of cops.
