Friends Yay or Nay? (Patreon)

Howdy ladies and gents, so David will be starting several new shows soon. Those shows include How To Get Away With Murder and Community. He has another one that he may start but he needs to narrow it down. But he wanted me to make a poll to see what the interest would be in him watching FRIENDS. Friends is one of my Top 3 sitcoms of all time and Brian has also seen all of friends. With the reunion that just happen me and Brian were talking about it and David mentioned that he has never seen it and wondered if it’s a good show to do reactions for. I told him idk how it holds up for someone that watches it now and not sure how the community would feel. So here we are. Would any of you be interested in reactions for FRIENDS from David?

I am not really a fan of Friends too much. I would certainly prefer another sitcom like Frasier, The Nanny, or Rules of Engagement. But should David choose to watch Friends, I might watch an episode reaction here and there. Heidi

I don’t care for it either, but i think he could react even if you don’t like it.. a lot of people LOVE it. so it would be a bum if he couldn’t get to react to it because some people don’t like it.

I’d loveee to see friends reaction. It’s my favorite show, and one I have to see from beginning to end yearly. I think David should watch it, not only for those who would love the reactions, but I genuinely think everyone should watch friends at least once in their lives. It’s too iconic not to.

I have seen the entire friends series like 10 times. I own the Blu Ray collection and the DVD collection and several Trivia games. Not sure I would bring much to it since I know everything about the show

I liked Friends when it was on, but haven't felt inclined to revisit it. I don't think it really lends itself to this kind of Reaction -- another show might serve better.

Friends is good and I would definitely watch the reactions. SO glad David is doinh HTGAWM though, definitely a good show for him as I know he loves to try to solve and figure out what will happen next in shows that he reacts too! This show will definitely keep guessing.

i'm not that excited to see friends covered, but i'd probably watch along here and there (as i currently do with brian's big bang theory reactions - i don't watch them all, but will if it's an episode of particular interest to me or I'm looking to fill some time and i'm already caught up on the shows i regularly follow).

IMO, you guys are a bit heavy on network shows and that restricts your audience a little. Lots of good cable/premium shows that might expand your reach. (Also Seinfeld > Friends if you were going to add an old network show just sayin)

I would 💯 be into seeing someone react to Friends in 2021. It would be interesting to see how that change in decades effects his viewing of it and it’s honestly a great show.

I'd be cool with Friends for David. It would be a good long run for the channel and he seems to enjoy other hangout sitcoms, so why not do the original? I'm also going to use this post to mention again that it would be amazing to see you and David together (based on some of your preferences and other shows you react to) watch Broadchurch. It's my reaction pipe dream because I know that it gets middle of the road votes in polls but is such a perfect show for reactions. (And a shorter run).

For me Friends doesn't hold up as much other TV shows do but it could be interesting to see reactions at least to few of the episodes. More excited about Community though 😅

Can’t wait for htgawm and community! I’ve only seen a few random episodes of friends and I’m personally not a huge fan, would be fun to see a reaction to it anyway though :)

oooh htgawm yay!!!!!!! this is making me so happy lol thank y'all for all the work you do! edit: also re: friends holding up: it varies. some of the jokes and attitudes are very much dated, but the overall theme is very much still fun and relevant. there's some iffy things said and done obviously that wouldn't fly by today's standards but it's still an enjoyable show and one i've always come back to. i think it'll be a good show for reactions. "what kinda scary-ass clowns came to your birthday" always cracks me up to this day lol

I love Friends but I also really hope one of them gets to react to Frasier at some point. It's still as funny today as its ever been.

Friends is one of my favorite shows! It's true I guess some of the jokes don't "hold up" by today's standards because of how things have changed. However, if you go in looking at it from the perspective that it's an old show and you're going to have to forgive some things...it's pretty great. It's a show that encapsulates the 90's/early 2000's in my opinion.

David will LOVE How To Get Away With Murder, such a truly great show. As for friends, I feel like it's such an iconic show that David shouldn't miss out on it ;)

I would love for David to do living single instead of friends! No one ever reacts to that show and it’s the original plot of friends just with POC.

Friends did not age well at all when you watch it now. It's one of those shows that was okay when it came out but definitely should stay in the past. I'm gonna agree with everyone on Living Single. That show was hilarious and I don't even like sitcoms.
