My daily reminder to skip the opening credits for the first two episodes of season 4. 😂 Now on the watch this reaction.

Lex's view of the story is arguably valid. One could argue that Clark and Lex are Yin and Yang, light and dark, and having one absolute is not a good thing. There are alternative universes in DC where Superman does become a tyrant and there are also AUs where Lex is the good guy. It's a lot of power and it's easy to be corrupted by it. One could argue that seeing the darkness and pride in Lex is what's keeping Clark humble and restrained with his gifts. It's also a slight nod to the fact that a Hero is only as good as his Villain. Heroes like Batman and Superman are great because they have great villains. You're correct in that the best villains are the one's who believe their doing the right thing.
