right now all we see is 7th grade and 8th grade I’m pretty sure it’s a middle school in the beginning and then in the shows logic’s the middle school and the high school blended because of budget cuts

This was a Canadian show, but in the us it was on the n (if your remember that channel) and then the n was turned into teen nick.

i like emma as she got older. she was definitely difficult in the beginning and while i don’t think that ever stops i just think she gets better to deal with. and yeah u will definitely love seeing them get older and go through high school. the first generation stays until i believe season 9 but they add in new characters i wanna say every season or at least most seasons and they’ll have characters in different grades. the middle school and high school become one and once these characters get out of middle school they don’t have any more characters in middle school.

In the episode where they are talking about astrology, Manny mentions that she was born in Manila.

i never like emma. I just dont like those personality types. I am very much her in the sense that i love animals, human rights and stuff, but i hate how she goes about it and she's very annoying. It's all her way or the high way and she thinks she's always right.

Also, Manny is my queen and she can be a bit too naive, but that's the thing, she is NAIVE. But i always loved how she also knows herself and what she stands for. She's filipino btw, but i assumed she was hispanic until a few years ago lol. I am hispanic and just projected that i guess. And there are no shows like this. The closest is sex education and heartbreak high, but those are netflix and only 8 episodes so it's hard loving the characters as hard as you will grow to love degrassi.

Angie

Sorry for commenting a lot, it's my favorite show and you ask a lot of questions. They were doing a reboot but it was just gonna be degrassi again on hbomax, but for some reason it was cancelled. I was actually excited but honestly, it was probably only gonna be a few episodes instead of thicc seasons, which is what i loved about it. Drake did a reunion music video so we did see them as adults a couple years ago.

cil

LOL i love how well you know the characters already. you knew immediately emma would have a problem with the cheer squad and that spin was going to poke his nose where it didn't belong

cil

also, if you want to see what the cast looks like now...go to youtube and look up/watch drake's "im upset" music video. the theme of the video is essentially a degrassi high school reunion. most of the main cast comes back and appears in the video. degrassi fans lost their minds when the music video came out a few years ago lol. it was fun seeing everyone again as adults.

The school system in Toronto goes: elementary school from kindergarden to grade 8, then secondary or high school from grade 9 to grade 12. I think they wanted to move up with the characters but keep them together so instead of seperating them they blended and then just moved away from elementary later own.
