I love Daniel's interview technique. He does what he has to, to get the truth. If he just let Louis and Armand tell the story they want, it would be no different that in the 70s.

The big part between Lestat and Claudia's version(because she was dying) is that Lestat did tell Louis what would happen and it being against the great laws.

There is proof Lestat's version of the fight is true(or more true than Louis and Claudia's). Louis's coffin has the indentation of where Louis bashed Lestat's head in it.
