Could you believe we had to wait for four months, after that episode?! Regarding Dipper. In season one, in the clone episode he reveals to Wendy the birthmark. She says “ The Big Dipper. I thought your parents must hate you , or something!” Also there were hidden clues about Stans brother! Like the secret room in the body switching episode. He had a pair of glasses he was holding, looking sad, before the kids came into the living room. I think his “ just trust me” was asking a lot. I also think Dipper would have pushed the button, lol. But that’s why it was Mabel. Note he said “ please” too. Which they made a whole episode about. I do think they wanted to see if they would just “ trust him”. I remember pausing when he asked “ do you really think I’m a “ bad” guy?” Because that’s a loaded question for a kid.
