What I love about the Blue Dragon reveal is that it adds ANOTHER perspective to the nature vs nurture debate. Some might say we are who we are fundamentally at our core. Others say our environment and upbringing shape us. Yet, in a world dominated by Nazis, a world WHITE Dragon would've thrived in, Blue Dragon was brought up in this world and somehow retained a semblance of morality, and wasn't a bigot with evil at his core like White Dragon. In fact, he saw his Prime Earth counterpart, and how cruel he was and thought "geez the world over there must be worst somehow" but it wasn't. Similarly, despite being raised in a white supremacist world, some white people listen to their empathy and rebel as Sons of Liberty. So the argument is regardless of your environment, kindness and empathy are choices one makes to listen to their heart. If you do, you get Blue Dragon. If not, White Dragon.

Blue Dragon loved his Chris. But he also knew that he was a messed up person, who embraced violence and drugs and hurt the people around him (like Harcourt). He mourns, but he also knows that his son died exactly as he lived -- in a state of unhinged violence, and him being dead was for the best. Blue Dragon doesn't openly defy the regime for the same reason of an argument for why our Superman doesn't go around toppling every bad government, or the Justice Gang doesn't "get involved with politics". Metas can't change a system or way of thinking by force, regardless of the powers or tech or resources they have. And in the end, that is the argument -- should they be allowed to? Should the absolute power that decides the world be left in the hands of capes?

Have a bit of empathy for Chris. He just re-experienced a full load of childhood trauma, watching his brother die in front of him. Yes, an evil white supremacist version of his brother, but still his brother nonetheless. He LOVED his brother unconditionally.
