This episode came around Halloween of 2007 and you can tell. This is easily the darkest episode of the show.

Setup to the Southern Raiders where we find out what Katara's morality will let her do with unlimited power. Plus we get to see Zuko's face when he sees what Katara really is.

Raphael Duncan

My favorite episode of the whole series for sure

She is crying because bloodbending is very morally wrong. It is a horrible, sensational feeling and even physically and mentally painful to go through. Yes, it could be helpful in a war, but because of Katara's characterization, we know that after going through the act of it herself and her loving and caring personality, she would hate to ever use the technique on anyone, no matter who it is.
